🤝 NUST and AFROX Strengthen Partnership for Innovation and Skills Development

The Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) and AFROX Namibia have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), marking an important step towards strengthening collaboration between academia and industry.

The partnership will create opportunities for student development, industry exposure, research and innovation, skills development, and knowledge exchange, while contributing to the development of Namibia’s future-ready workforce.

Through partnerships such as these, NUST continues to connect education, industry and innovation to address national development priorities and create meaningful opportunities for students and professionals. 🇳🇦

🇳🇦✈️🇨🇭 From NUST to Switzerland!

Five talented students from the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) have travelled to Switzerland as part of the B360 Programme, embracing an exciting opportunity for international learning, cultural exchange and personal growth.

This journey goes beyond the classroom — it is about gaining new perspectives, building global connections and bringing valuable experiences back home to Namibia. 🌍✨

We are proud to see our students representing NUST on an international stage and look forward to hearing about the knowledge, experiences and memories they bring back.

Go well, NUSTodians! The world is your classroom. 🇳🇦🌍🇨🇭

It’s a wrap! 🎓🤝🌍

This picture symbolises the end of a week-long engagement between TUBAF’s TU Bergakademie Freiberg's Institute of Mining and Specialised Civil Engineering and Namibia University of Science and Technology - NUST’s Department of Civil, Mining and Process Engineering.

The week provided an opportunity to explore how we can deepen our strategic partnership, particularly in the area of emergency medical services within the mining sector, while also advancing discussions on the finalisation of Winter Semester student mobility.

We also had the opportunity to celebrate the journey ahead through the Delegation of the European Union to Namibia’s Erasmus+ Programme send-off event.

A productive week of knowledge exchange, collaboration and strengthening partnerships that create meaningful opportunities for our students, academics and the broader mining sector.

To continued collaboration and impact! 🇳🇦🇩🇪🇪🇺

🤝 Courtesy Visit by Namibia’s Honorary Consul to Türkiye at NUST 🇳🇦🇹🇷

The Namibia University of Science and Technology - NUST recently hosted a courtesy visit from Mr Ali Demirdag, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Namibia in Türkiye and Secretary-General of Ankara Bilim University.

The visit gave Mr Demirdag the opportunity to learn more about NUST's academic programmes, research activities, and growing internationalisation efforts.

He was joined by a delegation of academic and diplomatic representatives from Türkiye and Germany, who were in Namibia as part of the Namibia–Türkiye Investment Roundtable, facilitated by the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB).

As part of its internationalisation strategy, NUST is exploring new partnership opportunities with higher education institutions in Türkiye. The University already collaborates with Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University (AAKU) on student and staff mobility programmes in hospitality and tourism.

Discussions during the visit focused on future cooperation in academic exchange, joint research, and capacity-building, reinforcing NUST's commitment to building strong international partnerships. 🌍📚.

NUST Welcomes 24 International Exchange Students from Five European Countries 🇳🇦🌍

The Namibia University of Science and Technology - NUST is proud to welcome 24 international exchange students from five European countries for Semester 2 of the 2026 academic year! 🎉

Coming from top universities in Germany, Austria, Latvia, Finland and Switzerland, these students will spend the next five months immersed in academic life across NUST's four faculties, with credits earned here transferring back to their home institutions.

At a special orientation event, Dr Yrika Maritz, Director of Corporate Strategy and Institutional Planning, welcomed the students on behalf of Prof Pilisano Masake, Executive Director in the Office of the Vice-Chancellor. She encouraged them to explore beyond the classroom, to be curious, build friendships, and discover Namibia's culture, landscapes and people.

🌟 A warm welcome to all our exchange students, we can't wait to see the memories you'll make!

NUST Strengthens Research and Innovation Partnerships in Tanzania 🇳🇦🤝🇹🇿

On 19 June 2026, a team from NUST, led by Prof Colin Stanley, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Research, Innovation and Partnerships, travelled to Tanzania as part of the official Namibian delegation accompanying H.E. Dr Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, President of the Republic of Namibia, on a State Visit. While there, the team took the opportunity to learn from one of East Africa’s most respected institutions, the University of Dar es Salaam.

What began as a benchmarking visit on research and innovation policy quickly became something richer: two days of open doors, candid conversations and shared ambition.
