Celebrating Namibia’s sustainability champions 🌱🏆
The 5th Namibia Sustainable Development Awards brought together leaders, organisations and individuals driving sustainable development and innovation across the country.
The biennial awards, hosted by the Environmental Investment Fund in partnership with the Sustainable Development Advisory Council, recognised excellence through 15 awards across 11 categories.
Among the standout honours was the Thought Leadership Award, a ministerial award recognising a leader whose transformative innovation elevates their organisation into a national sustainability role model. The award was won by scientist Peter Tarr.
The Pioneer in Journalism category also recognised outstanding media work, with Zee Media taking Best Digital, Hertha Ekandjo of NBC winning Best Television, and Absalom Shigwedha named Best Print Journalist.
The awards were supported by Gondwana Collection Namibia, BDO, Bank Windhoek and Coca-Cola.
