GENERAL EBSU UPDATES
Complement of the season to y’all🙌✨💙
Thank God for the journey so far in y’all admission pursuit. So many have already gotten admitted even though some were admitted into courses that they may not be comfortable with but you just have to keep going even though it may be tough.
I must say that we have really done lots of work this session so far and anyone that made EBSU his/her first choice of institution this session and haven’t been admitted is actually the one to be blame because we’ve made sure that every applicant that reached the necessary admission criteria for the session is been offered admission into one course or the other.
EBSU ADMISSION: Some are thinking that Ebonyi state university(EBSU) is no longer giving admission, EBSU admission is still ongoing though it’s not all courses that are still available. So one can still do change of institution to EBSU now and still get admitted though the available admission slots are very limited and there’s also limited time for that.
ALTERNATIVE PLACEMENT: Alternative placement is for those that have gotten admitted into a particular course but wish to switch to another course immediately without having to wait to switch to the different course in their 200Level.
Alternative placement is still ongoing even though you may need some special connections to pull it through at the moment because of some certain factors.
SCHOOL FEES PAYMENT: The portal for EBSU school fees payment have been activated and is fully running and will be open till close to the end of the semester around March 2026.
As a fresher, you’re expected to make your school fee payment before you will be able to get your school registration number which is what identifies you as a full bonafide student of Ebonyi State University. It’s the registration that you will be using for all vital school academic activities such as assignments, quiz, exams and others.
The school usually pave ways for students to be able to make installmental school fee payment(i.e paying half of the school fee in first semester and then paying the remaining half in second semester) but at the moment, the school haven’t made provision for installmental school fee payment, so all freshers are expected to make arrangements for full school fees payment pending the final decision from the school management.
There’s no deadline yet for school fees payment but as a fresher, it’s advisable you try to pay your school fee as early as possible and as soon as you can so that you can be able to get your school registration number which is what you will be using as your core identity in taking attendance, quiz, assignments and others.
CLEARANCE/REGISTRATION: Clearance is simply the process of doing necessary documentations ranging from acceptance fee payment, changing the acceptance fee receipt to school receipt, collection of school admission letter and others.
No fee is required for clearance but you must have paid for acceptance fee and purchase the screening form and supplementary form(for those admitted through supplementary admission list) before you can be able to commence with the necessary documentations.
Some have already completed their own clearance and registration processes while some are yet to commence with theirs. There’s no deadline for the clearance and registration processes for now, so one can start his/her own this December, January or even February, no one will penalize you for that and they won’t be any adverse effects for that either.
You can start clearance first before school fees payment or you can make school fee payment first before clearance. Whichever one you choose to do first, there’s no issue with it.
CHRISTMAS BREAK: EBSU will be embarking on Christmas break from Friday 19th December 2025 and will be resuming again on Monday 5th January, 2026. This means that all academic activities will be put to hold from 19th December till 5th January, 2026 when all academic activities will be resuming fully again.
MATRICULATION: The matriculation ceremony for 2025/2026 academic session have been slated to hold on Saturday 17th January, 2026. So all students who may wish to get the matriculation gown are expected to have made atleast acceptance fee payment two weeks before the matriculation date so that their school acceptance fee receipt will be ready before then which is the least requirement for the collection of matriculation gown for the ceremony.
It’s not compulsory that everyone must be present on the event of the ceremony. So if you wouldn’t be able to make it to the event as a fresher, you don’t have anything to worry about as there’s no repercussion for that.
