As part of the University’s commitment to ensuring sustainable and eco-friendly campus mobility, the institution has approved 15 new electric tricycles for commuting within the University community.

These tricycles offer zero-emission transportation, supporting a greener and cleaner campus while providing affordable transportation for students and staff.

The University wishes to inform prospective applicants that an earlier version of the 2026/2027 postgraduate admission advert for the Abuja Leadership Centre contained an error regarding the application fee.

The relevant office is currently working to correct the information. Prospective applicants are therefore advised not to make any payment until the corrected advert is published and the application portal officially opens.

The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) today visited the University to inspect TETFund-funded projects and assess the infrastructure needs of the institution.

The visit was led by a member of the TETFund Board of Trustees representing the North Central Zone, Dr Hassan Ocholi,
who commended the University Management for its efforts to revive the projects and urged it to sustain the progress.

Representing the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Hakeem Babatunde Fawehinmi, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Prof. Rosemary Udeozor, said work had resumed on the New Senate Building, while efforts were ongoing to secure funding for the completion of the International Conference Centre.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Hakeem Babatunde Fawehinmi, yesterday paid a courtesy visit to the Secretary-General of the Muslim World League, His Excellency Mohammed Abdulkarim Al-Issa, at the residence of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, exploring opportunities in ICT, student and staff development, hostel infrastructure, professional training, scholarships and academic exchanges.

Following yesterday’s football match between the non-teaching and academic staff teams of the University, women members of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) today held a conference on the theme, “Rising Beyond Limits: Women Leading with Purpose and Resilience.”

The University Management is intensifying efforts to improve water supply across the campus, with support from partners who share the University's commitment to student welfare and a conducive learning environment.

As part of this effort, Qatar Charity Foundation has donated two boreholes to the University, with plans for additional boreholes in the coming months.
