The University was established in 2009 to provide high-quality tertiary education for the country’s ever-increasing number of secondary school leavers. At the time of formation, Nile University had three faculties (Arts & Social Sciences, Engineering, and Natural & Applied Sciences) and 93 students. As the University grew and thrived over the following years, the need to provide its high-quality i

nstruction at a higher level became increasingly apparent. Thus, in 2014, Nile University established its School of Postgraduate Studies. Today Nile University has over 4000 students (undergraduate and postgraduate), 34 undergraduate programs across six faculties, and 47 postgraduate programs across five faculties. Nile University is a proud member of the Honoris United Universities network, the first and largest pan-African private higher education network.

Recently, hosted its 7th Inaugural Lecture, highlighting the important role of entrepreneurship in national development.

Titled “Entrepreneurship as a Development Architecture: The Lamino Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Achievement Process (LEEAP) for Emerging Economies,” the lecture encouraged a shift in thinking, seeing entrepreneurship not as separate efforts, but as a deliberate strategy for driving economic growth.

The session was filled with insightful strategies, one of which emphasized that, for emerging economies to grow sustainably, entrepreneurship must be built as a connected system that integrates policy, innovation, education, and enterprise.

Treating entrepreneurship as a national development strategy rather than an afterthought can lead to stronger, more sustainable progress. The LEEAP model was presented as a practical approach to supporting entrepreneurs and promoting inclusive growth.

Overall, the event reflected Nile University’s commitment to advancing knowledge, fostering innovation, and contributing to meaningful economic transformation.

What a remarkable way to round off International Women’s Month!

The International Women’s Day Conference at Nile University of Nigeria was a resounding success, bringing together our vibrant community of women to celebrate empowerment, connection, and shared purpose at the .

From the dazzling red-carpet moments, where our women showed up in stunning, colourful attire, to the rich networking opportunities and engaging interactions, the atmosphere was nothing short of inspiring. The day came alive with exciting highlights including interactive sessions, live performances, fashion showcases, drama, dance, karaoke, quiz competitions, and a special cultural presentation by the Indian Community in Nigeria.

It was truly a fun-filled and memorable experience, an opportunity for our women to relax, connect, and reflect on the powerful theme of the season: “Give to Gain.”
