Ondo Police Commissioner visits Federal College of Agriculture, Akure; applauds College on zero-tolerance to cult activities.
The Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Command, CP Abayomi Peter Oladipo, paid a courtesy visit to the Federal College of Agriculture, Akure (FECA) on Friday, 27th September, 2024. The Commissioner and his management team were warmly received by the Provost, Dr. Akinyemi A. Fadiyimu, who expressed profound gratitude for the Ondo State Police Command's role in bolstering security at the college.
In his welcome address, Dr. Fadiyimu commended the significant improvements in the college security since CP Oladipo took office, particularly in addressing the issue of land encroachment."Your timely intervention has brought much-needed peace and stability to our college.The ongoing threat from land grabbers had posed a major challenge, but thanks to your leadership, we have made considerable strides in curbing illegal activities.This success can only be attributed to the strong collaboration between the Ondo State Police Command and our institution,” Dr. Fadiyimu said.
The Provost emphasized the importance of maintaining this partnership, not only for security purpose but also for fostering community development and capacity-building initiatives. He extended an open invitation to the police force and their families to enroll in the college's various programs. "Feel free to reach out for any assistance related to agriculture, and your officers and their families are welcome to enroll in our vocational training, regular courses, or short-term programs," Dr. Fadiyimu added.
In his response, CP Abayomi Peter Oladipo thanked the college management for the warm reception and acknowledged their efforts in maintaining a peaceful campus environment. He reaffirmed the police force’s commitment to supporting Federal College of Agriculture,Akure security and development efforts. "We are partners in progress, and you have a friend in the police command. I assure you of our continued support as we work together to ensure that the Federal College of Agriculture remains a beacon of excellence in Ondo State," the Commissioner stated.
