Topic: The Heart of Thanksgiving
Text: Psalm 100:4–5, Philippians 4:16–17

There is a heart that gives thanks to the Almighty when we are in trouble. It fills with the information and truth we need. And it asks for forgiveness.

Thanksgiving is not just a seasonal event or a response to good things, but it is supposed to be a lifestyle. A holy mind gives thanks to the Lord.

Lots of gifts have been given us, but God's will for us is less. It is God's will that we give thanks in everything, not for everything—meaning in the difficult times we are called to remember a thankful life. Turn to your God as the source of every good thing. James 1:17.
Thanksgiving recognizes God as the source of every good thing.

Thanksgiving prepares our heart before our deepest needs are made into God.

Thanksgiving diffuses entirely and releases peace. Philippians 4:7–8. Worry exactly focuses on the problem, but thanksgiving brings peace.
One cannot be anxious and full of thanks at the same time.

Thanksgiving brings us closer to God. Psalm 22:3. God dwells in the atmosphere of praise and thanksgiving, and it is a gateway into deeper fellowship with the Lord. It is the key that opens the gate to the treasure room of God.

Thanksgiving unlocks more blessing from God. Luke 17:15–19. Gratitude positions us for greater blessings.

Thanksgiving must be expressed. Hebrews 13:15. Thanksgiving is not silent but expressed by our actions, even when the bells clap. It is a sacrifice that pleases God. It must not be hidden; it should show everywhere.

How do we know a thankful heart?
A thankful heart is always grateful for what God has done and always giving thanks.

Text: Hebrews 4:14–16
Minister: Sis Faith Stephen

Mercy is a great resource that every believer needs in order to live the life of the Cross.

From our anchor scripture, Hebrews 4:14 reveals that Jesus, our High Priest, has gone ahead of us. He has secured for us both a blessing and a judgment.

A Blessing:
We have confidence because Christ has gone before us, and He is continually making intercession on our behalf.

A Judgment:
We are without excuse. If Christ endured all things without sin, then we cannot justify sin or weakness in our own lives.

In verse 15, we are reminded that Jesus understands our weaknesses. He relates to our struggles and knows our pain. Therefore, we depend on His strength and mercy to live a victorious life.

Finally, verse 16 encourages us to come boldly to the throne of grace—the place of access to God. There, we obtain mercy and find grace to help us in times of need.

In the volume of the book, it was written concerning you—so it does not matter the circumstances through which you came into this world.

You were divinely orchestrated by God with a kingdom mandate. But when you refuse to yield to the demands of God, to the bidding of Christ, He will replace you.

Beloved, no man is indispensable before the Lord.

There is something God has entrusted to you—an assignment you have been empowered to accomplish. Giving up does not bring the solution; it is only a guarantee of the worst to come.

But the question remains,

• Where is your hunger for the things of God?

• Will you let your pride and arrogance, bitterness and envy, jealousy and mischief take you away from your ordination and your place in Christ?

The “seeing eyes” in this context go beyond spiritual gifts or anointing. It speaks of seeing through the lens of Christ.

There is a way God sees things that is far beyond the perspective of human eyes. When you refuse to see through the lens of Christ, you risk missing your seasons.

(Reference: 2 Kings 13:14–19)
Every season of our lives requires a certain level of engagement to bring it forth. You are at a great disadvantage if you do not see through the lens of Christ.

Right now, ask the Lord to help you see through His lens.
