NUOS/UCC/029/04/2022

The led executive in his magnificent wisdom and prudence has though it wise to rejuvenate the Ogoni students in Diaspora through a HOME VISIT TO MAJOR OGONI STAKEHOLDERS, POLITICAL LEADERS, BUSINESS MEN AND WOMAN, PHILANTHROPISTS, TRADITIONAL RULERS AND CONGRESS MEN WHO HAS BEEN A GOOD FRONTIER OF THE OGONI PEOPLE.

This HOME VISITATION is aimed at re-creating the spirit of oneness among the Ogoni students and stakeholders, and also, to formulate a strong, supportive synergy with ogoni Leaders , knowing too well that most at times the students at diaspora are always been left out in all aspects with the impression that we are outside of our home state, which is a very inaccurate intuition and perception.

As a way of resuscitating this balance and inclusion, we therefore call forth all Malabites and Malabressess and all the Ogoni students of Cross River State to come let's give honour to whom honour is due as we breathe new life into our dear Union in Diaspora (NUOS UCC)

This move will be an Almanac to be reckoned upon. It will be a rare privilege that will empower the young lads that'll join our alma-mater .

The National Union of Ogoni Student University of Calabar chapter now call her members to take hold of this open opportunity to register for the KIISI TRUST 2022/2023 SCHOLARSHIP. For the past five years today, the KIISI TRUST Scholarship has been fulfilling its demands by empowering Ogoni students through this merit base Scholarship.

We also, want to use this medium to appeal to the foundation to consider the universities in Diaspora (UNIVERSITY OF CALABAR) to be precise, knowing that we are facing lots of challenges in regards to academic calendar and increase in school fees and other payments which is affecting our performances as students. Also, the schools in Diaspora are very much competing in terms of having a 5.0 CGPA to merit this Scholarship, on like other state universities that get it on a Plata of GOLD.

We therefore, request for the board to consider our dear Malabites/Malabressess who would apply. Our dear Ogoni students over here are really coping with the stress and still having good grades. I strongly believe that the least CGPA that would apply for this scholarship from our prestigious University would be 3.58.

Thank you Kiisi Trust scholarship

By The Special Grace of God, the current Serving NUOS UCC Executives came in power on the 16th July 2021 after a successful electioneering Process LED my Comr. Amenyaobari Saka ( Eleco Chairperson). We Took an oath of service, to serve the Union to the best of our Ability. To Lead Ogoni Students community in Cross Rivers State to be good Ambassadors of Ogoni Land, and To continue the good works of the Emeritus President, Senior Comr. Rex Dumbari who kept the Ogoni students Flag in Cross Rivers Sate Standing despite the challenges he Faced.

However, Over the Years The Union has faced Diversity of challenges and Delay due to it long distance from Home ( Rivers State). The Union suffered for lack of Mentorship Supports, Lack of Structures, Lack of Resources and Funds, Unwillingness and low Participation of students due to inaccessibility of Funds to meet up Students academic Complains and Social Worries Such as Inability to get Hostel Spaces, Insufficiency In Finance to meet up students Complains. NUOS UCC Has suffered like a Young man who traveled to a far country without Foundations and Parental Supports.

It’s Pitiful, that Financial Instability has been A Huge Problem and has caused Delay in Progress, NUOS UCC as the only outside state Union Recognized and Registered under NUOS WW. We lack Resources to Carry our Innovative Programs. Mostly as students leaders we have to tax our selves from the little Allowances from our parents to keep the Union Running,
Students Are been faced daily with Academic and Social Issues on campus.

Despite the Unbearable Challenges faced by the Current Executive and Stakeholders We are Celebrating a Successful Six Months of Great Achievement in Office. 2ND FEBRUARY, 2022.

An Appeal For School Fees Support for ogoni students in University of Calabar.

Following the distress calls from our dear Ogoni Students in University of Calabar for not meeting up their payment of school fees for 2020/2021 Session, due to increment of tuition fees by the School Management.

The increment of fees and other payments has so much affected sons and daughters of Ogoni in this citadel of learning (university of calabar). Resulting to drop out, depression and anxiety.

The School Management approved ₦49,050 for Sciences And ₦47,050 for Non-Science Students for 2020/2021 academic session excluding the extra charges of ₦5,000 for late payment. Initially the payment was 37,050 for Non sciences while 39,050 was for sciences. So far, the management has posed a threat of closing the portal on or before Monday 7th Feb, 2022.

This will be a great history to you and your office if the Ogoni Students are given keen interest and support.

The executives of the National Union of Ogoni Students university of Calabar would be great if our honest request is met .
