CAWE Strengthens Partnerships for Environmental Conservation and Research in Nigeria
The Centre for Arid Zones and Wetlands Ecology (CAWE) team recently embarked on a series of strategic courtesy visits to key institutions in Nigeria to foster collaboration on environmental conservation, research, and capacity-building initiatives.
During the visits, the CAWE delegation engaged with representatives from ACReSAL Jigawa, the Centre for Dryland Agriculture (CDA), the Jigawa State Ministry of Environment, Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, and the Nigerian Institute for Oil Palm Research (NIFOR), Jigawa State. Discussions focused on potential areas of collaboration, including research partnerships, grant proposal development, training programs, and ecosystem restoration projects.
Each meeting was highly productive, with stakeholders expressing strong commitments to working with CAWE on various environmental initiatives. These partnerships will play a crucial role in advancing sustainable development efforts, promoting biodiversity conservation, and strengthening climate resilience in the region.
CAWE appreciates the warm reception and positive engagements from all the institutions visited and looks forward to translating these discussions into impactful actions.
