HAPPY 66TH INDEPENDENCE DAY, UNILORITES🇳🇬

MODEL and EFFICIENT UNILORITES,

The Union warmly felicitates with the entire body of Unilorites as Nigeria commemorates her 66th Independence Anniversary. This significant occasion provides an opportunity for us to reflect on our journey as a nation, appreciate the sacrifices that shaped our collective history, and renew our commitment to the ideals of unity, progress, patriotism and national development. As we celebrate, we extend our warmest wishes to every student, staff member and member of the University of Ilorin community.

For us as Unilorites, the celebration also presents an opportunity to recognise the important role of education in national transformation. The University of Ilorin continues to serve as a community where knowledge, innovation, character and leadership are cultivated. As students, we must continue to equip ourselves with the knowledge and values required to contribute meaningfully to Nigeria's development. The classrooms, laboratories, lecture halls and other learning spaces are not merely places of academic pursuit but also platforms for preparing the next generation of professionals, innovators, administrators and nation-builders.

As we celebrate this year's Independence Anniversary, we encourage every Unilorite to remain hopeful and committed to the collective aspiration of a better Nigeria. Our individual efforts, however small they may appear, can contribute to meaningful change when guided by integrity. We must continue to promote peaceful coexistence, respect for one another, responsible citizenship and
a culture of constructive engagement, both within our University community and beyond.

On this memorable occasion, we join our fellow Nigerians in honouring the labour of our heroes past and celebrating the enduring spirit of our great nation. May Nigeria continue to grow in peace, unity and prosperity, and may the hopes and aspirations of her citizens find greater expression in the years ahead. To every Unilorite, we wish you a Happy New Month and a Happy 66th Independence Day. May we continue to play our part in building the Nigeria we all aspire to see.
