ABCOAD TVET SCHOOL WELCOMES NEW INTAKE; Emphasises Skills and Punctuality.
Audu Bako College of Agriculture Dambatta (ABCOAD) Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) School has welcomed over 100 new students into the Federal Government TVET Cohort II programme with an orientation and induction ceremony held at the College.
Speaking as the keynote speaker, the Provost of the College, Dr. Hassan Ibrahim, urged the newly inducted students to demonstrate discipline, punctuality, dedication and commitment to the core values of the programme throughout their six-month training.
Dr. Ibrahim noted that ABCOAD was the only centre among the various accredited centres in the state granted the opportunity by the Federal Government to select its beneficiaries directly. He assured that the College would not abuse the confidence and opportunity entrusted to it.
He therefore encouraged the students to take their training seriously, remain punctual and maintain high moral standards, stressing that the programme was designed to equip them with practical skills that would enhance their employability and self-reliance.
Earlier in his remarks, the Dean, School of TVET, Dr. Muhyiddeen Yahya Musa, commended the tireless efforts of the Provost, Dr. Hassan Ibrahim, in securing full accreditation for the College’s TVET centre.
He described the accreditation as a significant milestone, particularly as it positions the College to facilitate the award of the National Skills Qualification (NSQ) Level II, a recognised skills certification.
Dr. Muhyiddeen congratulated the successful applicants and urged them not to take the opportunity for granted, noting that thousands of young people are waiting for similar opportunities to acquire relevant skill
He further stressed the importance of punctuality, explaining that students’ electronic attendance records would form part of the requirements for their monthly stipends.
In a vote of thanks, the Director of Academic Planning expressed delight over the successful commencement of the programme and congratulated the newly inducted students. He wished them a productive and successful training experience.
The ceremony was attended by the Establishment Secretary, Directors, Heads of Departments and other members of staff of the College.
