ECOHSAT GRADUATES INDUCTED AS MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENTISTS BY MLSCN AT KWASU 7TH OATH-TAKING CEREMONY.
The Kwara State University (KWASU) marked a significant milestone with the successful hosting of its 7th Oath-Taking and Induction Ceremony for graduating Medical Laboratory Scientists. The event brought together distinguished academics, healthcare professionals and proud families to celebrate the formal entry of new professionals into the field of Medical Laboratory Science.
The ceremony also featured the induction of graduates from ECOHSAT with an impressive 50% of the inductees graduating with Second Class Honours (Upper Division). This remarkable academic achievement underscores ECOHSAT’s commitment to excellence and quality training in healthcare education.
The ECOHSAT delegation at the ceremony was led by the Deputy Provost (Academics), Malam Suleiman Aliyu Muhammad alongside the BSc Coordinator, Malam Ibrahim Onifade and the Public Relations Officer, Malam AbdulKabir Suleiman.
In his keynote address, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shaykh Luqman Jimoh, reaffirmed KWASU’s commitment to excellence in medical training. He emphasized that the university remains dedicated to providing a practical learning environment that effectively integrates theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience.
According to him, this commitment is clearly demonstrated through the utilization of the Kwara State University Teaching Hospital (KWASUTH) for clinical training. This approach ensures that students are well-equipped with the essential skills required for professional practice in the healthcare sector.
Professor Jimoh further charged the newly inducted Medical Laboratory Scientists to approach their profession with resourcefulness, integrity and a deep sense of responsibility. He stressed the critical role they play in healthcare delivery and patient outcomes.
In a separate interview, the Vice-Chancellor expressed satisfaction with the ongoing partnership between KWASU and ECOHSAT. He commended the college for its contributions to healthcare training and expressed optimism that ECOHSAT would continue to uphold high standards and discipline in the training of its students.
The event concluded with the administration of the professional oath, officially inducting the graduates into the noble profession of Medical Laboratory Science and marking the beginning of their journey as key contributors to the healthcare system.
The 7th oath taking and induction ceremony stands as clear proof of resilience and a success story in the face of numerous challenges and criticisms encountered along the journey and it further reinforces the determination and commitment of ECOHSAT to excellence in training and professional development.
