ADC: Aeroland defends Atiku, blames Bode George for PDP’s decline

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Segun Adewale, has said former Vice President Atiku Abubakar should not be held responsible for the party’s struggles and decline.

Adewale, popularly known as Aeroland and a former PDP chairman in Lagos State, made the remark during an interview in Lagos while reacting to a recent accusation by former PDP Deputy National Chairman, Chief Bode George.

George had blamed Abubakar and other former party leaders for the collapse of the PDP, accusing them of jumping ship to lead a new opposition coalition under the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

He expressed his concerns during a Friday appearance on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, where he criticised Abubakar and former Senate President David Mark for aligning with the ADC-led alliance aimed at unseating President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

Responding, Adewale said it was George, not Abubakar, who contributed to the party’s decline, especially in Lagos, alleging that George had consistently worked against the PDP in every election cycle in the state.

Adewale said, “I read with dismay a recent statement credited to Chief Bode George claiming that Atiku Abubakar joined the opposition coalition after destroying the PDP.

What could be more shameful and disgraceful than a known serial betrayer of Lagos PDP accusing another person of destroying the PDP.

“Is it not ludicrous that the same person that has serially and openly worked against the PDP and openly instructing his supporters to work for ADP and Labour party, at different election cycles in Lagos, now claims Atiku destroyed the PDP?”

He said that George as founding member of PDP had not delivered a polling units, including his, to PDP since 1999.

When I get the opportunity to lead, I'll ensure the nation's resources benefit everyone, not just a privileged few.

Nigeria is blessed with immense wealth - oil, gold, and agriculture - and it's our right to share this prosperity.

The elites and the politicians have misused trillions of naira and dollars for their own benefit, but we will do better when God elevates us to the position of power.

*2027 :Atiku’s candidacy won’t destroy PDP* —Adewale

A chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party(PDP),Chief Segun Adewale, has dismissed a statement made by another party stalwart, Chief Olabode George, that the candidacy of Vice President Atiku Abubakar will affect the party’s chances in 2027.

Adewale, a former State Chairman of the party ,told the News Men on Wednesday in Lagos that Abubakar was an asset to the the party, not a liability

George, a former PDP Deputy National Chairman, had said during an interview on Channels Television on Monday that Abubakar’s candidacy would spell doom for the party in 2027

Reacting, Adewale said it was wrong for anyone to say the emergence of Atiku would undermine the party’s victory in 2027 ,contending the chances of the party would rather be affected by anti -party activities and selfishness of some party leaders.

He said: “Atiku has been contributing to the party for years.

“Atiku would have won in the 2023 presidential election if not because of the anti party activities of some people like Bode George.

“Anti-party activities led the PDP to where it is today. PDP would have eon in 2023 and stayed in power ever since.

“They (some party leaders) made sure that the PDP votes were divided in Lagos and other states. PDP lost that election for that reason”,he said.

He said that the party leadership should rather focus on curbing anti-party activities among leaders rather than attacking Abubakar’s candidacy.

The chieftain said that the party should take a firm stand against those destroying the party through their actions and inactions.

“Some PDP leaders should be ashamed of themselves, especially those working for the opposition openly and without looking backward in every election.

“These are activities affecting our chances and destroying the party in Lagos State and at the national level in all electoral cycles since 2015.

“If Atiku’s candidacy will destroy the PDP, what do we say of party leaders who openly told PDP members to vote opposition in an election? Will that build or brighten the our chances?

“We must address the substance and stop chasing shadows. ” the chieftain said.

According to him, some leaders always fight PDP candidates and work against them during elections.

“We should rather concentrate on those in the party but working for the opposition. This anti-party (activities)is our problem not Atiku Abubakar ’s candidacy,” he said.

Adewale cautioned George against speaking as if he was the voice of Lagos PDP.

The 2027 election and Congress will be decided by those who have a stronger financial chest. I therefore doubted our chances in the 2027 general election if we leave everything to AA.
AA will be dealing with Wike, remnants of G5, and the opposition with unlimited access to the vault in trillions.

I will, therefore, suggest NYFA and all other credible organizations set up campaign funds for AA now, to delay is dangerous .
We can start from writing and targeting ex pdp functionaries... especially those who have benefited from the pdp government before can donate a minimum of N50m and above. People like us who want the best for Nigeria through AA but haven't been privileged to serve should contribute 20m upward.

I can kick start the campaign with N20m, and others can follow.
The target will be to raise N100b with 2000 dedicated members.

If it's to be, it's left for us, not AA only. Writing big Grammer on social media will never bring the desired change Nigerians are yarning for.
Money, commitment and dedicated changes everything.

We should also remember the words of Joseph Stalin. "The people who cast the votes don't decide an election, the people who count the votes do."

A Political support group National Alliance for Atiku and Okowa (NAFAO) has once again pledge to deliver 2million votes for Atiku in the forthcoming presidential election.

The group through the national co-ordinator, Hon. Inalegwu Ejembi Adaje called on all State, local government and ward coordinators to ensure strong mobilization for the Saturday presidential election.

Adaje in his address to the press said the hardship experienced under the heartless APC government is enough lesson for Nigerians to use in comparing the APC and PDP and make the right choice by voting Atiku Abubakar.

He also said Atiku remains the only Pan Nigerian who has always work with every section of the country in the past and as such Nigerians should trust the only Unifier at the moment.

Adaje while writing off the other major front runners hit hard on the Obi camp asking them to remain grateful to Atiku for it was his forthrightness that even brought Obi back into lime light and as such can not be a threat to Atiku Abubakar.

"Who would have remembered Obi if it was not four years ago when Atiku insisted having him as his Vice presidential candidate against all the opposition especially from his own southeast governors."

Atiku Abubakar remains a force to beat in the forthcoming presidential election and not even the merging of APC and Labour Party can defeat the PDP, he said.
