The conversation traced how the demolition and reconstruction of traditional Iga palaces is reshaping Yoruba architecture, cultural memory and royal representation, and the delicate balance between modernisation and heritage.

On Monday, 31 August 2026, the Institute of African and Diaspora Studies (IADS), University of Lagos, hosted the Traditional Medicine Exhibition Day 2026, bringing together researchers, practitioners and participants for a day of knowledge, culture and meaningful conversations on traditional medicine.

The event explored the place of indigenous medical knowledge, medicinal plants and community-based healthcare practices in contemporary healthcare and their contribution to Universal Health Coverage.
