Message To All Parents
Education shouldn't be about the person with highest exam score. It doesn't also truly mean the person with highest score is the most intelligent.
School is suppose to be built for understanding not for competition.
Education becomes an anxiety provoking competition rather than a focus on the ongoing process of true learning.
The question now is, how do you measure the understanding of a student if you don't test him on the material in a meaningful fashion? Without tests, and measurement of those tests, how do you know that learning has taken place?
Excellent test scores means that the child is paying required attention to classroom instructions. All other reasons thereafter would be better assimilated with such foundation. High test scores must be encouraged anyway.
However, education should be about expanding our knowledge and growing our understanding of the world, not just about getting a good score on a test. We need to focus more on the journey of learning rather than the end goal.
Unfortunately low scores prevent you from getting the best opportunities even if you know a lot more.
Everyone thinks learning is done in school only. Unfortunately, that is not always the case. Education is different from schooling. That is the reason parents need to play a major role in the educational process of their children.
The purpose of education is understood and adopted by students from 15 to 18 years old. It is always difficult to impose at this point. Only if they know that the real education begins after college.
Education should foster joy in understanding, awaken curiosity in reasoning, and cultivate the ability to think deep and critically about the world.
The real goal of education is character plus intelligence. I have a particular student that is very brilliant but has abysmal character.
The aim of education should be to teach us how to think, than what to think. To improve our minds, so as to enable us to think for ourselves, than to load the memory with the thoughts of other men.
I believe that, education should be more of teaching children about mental health, emotional maturity, money management, and confidence.
Most of us have academic education. Not the real kind of education.
If the purpose of education is "only" to score well on a test, we've lost sight of the real reason for learning.
