Researchers in South Korea have developed a 2-liter direct injection hydrogen engine for passenger cars, claiming it’s more economical and eco-friendly than conventional internal-combustion engines that use hydrogen.

This new technology injects high-pressure hydrogen directly into the combustion chamber, resulting in ultra-lean combustion and low NOx emissions.

The engine also achieves a high thermal efficiency of up to 40%, reducing carbon dioxide and fine dust emissions by 98% and 90%, respectively, compared to gasoline engines.

Researchers aim to test the engine’s durability and explore its potential for various vehicle types and electricity generation power units.

It is a well established medical fact that people with inflammation of the gums (periodontal disease) are at greater risk of having atherosclerosis, a condition in which chronic inflammation causes the walls of the arteries to become thick and stiff from a buildup of plaque. So people with gum inflammation also have inflammation in their arteries.
