Dear Colleagues and Alumni,

I am delighted to once again report that the Faculty, yesterday, Wednesday 6th May 2026, received a delegation from the Class of 2004, who paid a visit to their alma mater.

They came to unveil a major project they recently completed and formally handed over to both the Faculty/University.

The occasion marked the commissioning, by the 16th substantive Vice Chancellor of our great university, Prof Simon Uche Ortuanya, of a 10 KVA/15 KWH LiFePO₄ hybrid solar power installation. This has been provided by the class as an alternative energy source for the newly reconstructed Pharmacy Block K, which accommodates many pharmacy lecturers.

The project, executed by the class at an estimated cost approaching ₦10 million, has now been handed over to support uninterrupted power supply for the entire block.

In addition to this big initiative, the class recently refurbished the Associate Dean’s office, while some members also made personal donations of split-unit air conditioners for staff offices within the rebuilt Block K.

On behalf of the management, staff, students and greater alumni of our dear faculty, I sincerely thank and commend the unity, generosity, and enduring commitment of the Class of 2004 to the growth of our Faculty over the years.

May God richly bless and reward you all!

Prof C. S. Nworu
Dean, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences

Good News for Pharmacy students in UNN....

"I am pleased to share encouraging news concerning the continued growth and development of our Faculty. To the glory of God, the construction of a dedicated hostel for Pharm D students at Ituku-Ozalla has commenced, with a projected completion timeline of 48 weeks.

This development will, to a significant extent, address the longstanding challenges of transporting our students between Nsukka and Ituku-Ozalla, as well as the issue of accommodating our professional students in conditions that are often insecure and less than befitting.

We are deeply grateful for the special intervention by TETFund and to our Vice-Chancellor for the approvals that have made this project possible.

The hostel is intended primarily for 600-level Pharm D students, who are required to be in residence at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH), Ituku-Ozalla.

Thank you for your continued support and commitment to the advancement of our Faculty.

Prof. C. S. Nworu
Dean, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences

In the midst of the celebrations and fellowship, I had the pleasure of receiving representatives of the 2010 graduating B.Pharm set, who came bearing a generous gift to the Faculty. They graciously responded to our call for support and donated six high-quality laptops to strengthen our e-library & CBT Centre.
