Burkina Faso has inaugurated its first gold refinery as the military-led government moves to process more of the country’s mineral wealth locally.

The Raffinor-BF facility can initially refine up to 164 tonnes of gold annually, with plans to eventually increase capacity to 515 tonnes.

The government says the refinery is part of efforts to strengthen state control of the gold industry, reduce smuggling and retain more value from the country’s natural resources.

The story of Tommy the cat became widely known in 2006 after emergency services in Columbus, Ohio received a 911 call with no one speaking on the line.

Dispatchers could hear unusual noises but no human response, prompting police officers to investigate.

Inside the home, they found Gary Rosheisen, who had mobility issues and medical conditions including seizures.

He had fallen from his wheelchair and was unable to reach the phone or call for help himself.

Gary had spent time encouraging Tommy to interact with the telephone, rewarding him for pressing buttons.

Investigators could not prove with absolute certainty that Tommy intentionally dialed 911, but the cat was discovered beside the phone when officers arrived, and no other obvious explanation was found.

The incident attracted international attention because accidental emergency calls from pets are extremely rare.

It also highlighted the strong bonds that can develop between people with disabilities and their companion animals.

Whether Tommy deliberately understood the emergency or simply repeated a learned behavior remains unknown.

💬 President Vladimir Putin: Many in Europe say that they are expecting an attack by the Russian Federation and so must prepare for hostilities, for a war with Russia.

I would like to emphasise once again that we are not preparing for hostilities with Europe. We have no such plans, no reasons and, most importantly, no real motives for aggravating the situation with Europe, regardless of what is being said [...]

There is only one explanation for the attempts by certain aggressive circles to aggravate the situation: they want to continue using Ukraine and Ukrainians as cannon fodder and a tool in the fight against Russia, seeking to prevent our further development, to hinder it, to slow down Russia’s advancement.

To be able to continue investing in this absolutely aggressive behaviour and to explain to their citizens why they are doing this, they are trying to dupe the citizens of European countries with the idea that Russia is allegedly planning to attack someone. This is complete nonsense.

In 2013, a Turkish man named Ibrahim Yücel from Kütahya became internationally known after building a helmet-like metal cage around his head to stop himself from smoking.

He had been smoking about two packs of ci******es a day for roughly 26 years and had repeatedly failed to quit.

Yücel said the idea came from watching motorcycle helmets.

He designed the cage so he physically could not put a cigarette into his mouth when cravings hit. Every morning, he locked it before leaving home.

To make sure he couldn't cheat, he handed the keys to his wife and daughter.

The cage was generally opened only for meals, while water could be consumed through a straw inserted through the wire gaps.

One reason he was determined to quit was that his father had died from lung cancer linked to smoking.

That loss reportedly pushed him to take far more drastic action than previous attempts.

🚨🇮🇱🇳🇱 ISRAEL FORCEFULLY RETALIATING AGAINST DUTCH TRADE BAN

Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar just announced that Israel is revoking the diplomatic privileges and Israeli-issued credentials of Dutch diplomats serving in Ramallah, giving them seven days before the credentials expire.

Sa’ar said that if the Netherlands wants to represent its interests with the ‘Palestinians,’ it can do so “from Palestinian Authority territory, rather than from the territory of the State of Israel.”

This comes after the Netherlands’ ban on goods from Israeli businesses in Judea and Samaria, eastern Jerusalem and the Golan Heights took effect.

Dutch customs officials have even reportedly begun searching the luggage of passengers arriving in Amsterdam on El Al flights from Tel Aviv to check whether travelers are personally carrying products originating in those areas.

🚨BREAKING: CHINA HAS APPROVED A COMMERCIAL BRAIN IMPLANT — AND THIS TECHNOLOGY IS MOVING FASTER THAN MOST PEOPLE REALIZE.

China has officially approved NEO, a coin-sized brain-computer interface developed at Tsinghua University and commercialized by Neuracle / Borui Kang Medical Technology. It is now the world’s first invasive brain-computer interface cleared for commercial medical use.

This isn’t science fiction anymore.

The implant has eight electrodes placed outside the brain tissue, on the dura, where it detects signals when a patient imagines moving their hand. Those signals are decoded and used to operate a robotic rehabilitation glove.

Before approval, it was implanted in 32 patients across 11 hospitals in China with cervical spinal cord injuries. Every participant achieved brain-controlled grasping, with significant improvement in hand function.

Think about that. A person thinks about moving. A machine reads the signal. Technology interprets the thought. And a device responds.

Meanwhile, Elon Musk’s Neuralink remains in investigational human trials and does not have general commercial approval.

From a medical standpoint, helping someone who is paralyzed regain basic independence could be an incredible use of technology.

But Christians should also understand the generation we are living in.

Revelation 13 describes a future system under the Beast where people cannot buy or sell without the mark connected to that system.

To be absolutely clear, I am NOT saying this brain implant is the Mark of the Beast. The Bible gives us no basis to call NEO or every new piece of technology the Mark.

But look at what is developing around us. AI. Brain-computer interfaces. Biometrics. Digital identification. Digital currencies. Facial recognition. Machines capable of interpreting neural activity.

For generations, Christians read Revelation and wondered how a system capable of identifying people and controlling commerce on an enormous scale could ever work.

We are now watching technologies emerge that make that kind of identification, connectivity, surveillance and control imaginable in ways previous generations never experienced.

The final system described in Revelation does not have to appear overnight. The infrastructure can be built one breakthrough at a time.

Again, don’t panic. Don’t call every chip the Mark. Don’t twist Scripture to make headlines. But DO WATCH.

And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch. Mark 13:37

The technology is moving fast. Christians need to be paying attention.

In 2003, 67-year-old Dorothy Fletcher was traveling from Pennsylvania to Florida when she suddenly experienced severe chest pain and signs of a heart attack aboard her flight.

The cabin crew made the standard emergency announcement asking whether a doctor was on board. What happened next was extraordinary.

About 15 physicians responded, many of them specialists in heart disease.

The doctors were traveling together to the annual scientific meeting of the American College of Cardiology, one of the largest cardiology conferences in the world.

By sheer coincidence, the flight was carrying an unusually high concentration of experts trained to handle cardiac emergencies.

The physicians quickly assessed Fletcher, monitored her condition, administered appropriate treatment available on the aircraft, and coordinated care until the plane could land and she could be transferred to a hospital.

Fletcher later recovered and credited the remarkable group of doctors with helping save her life.

Many of the physicians described the event as an incredibly unlikely coincidence, comparing the odds to winning a lottery.

In October 2017, the Tubbs Fire became one of the most destructive wildfires in California history, tearing through Sonoma and Napa counties with incredible speed.

Thousands of people were forced to evacuate in the middle of the night as flames spread across entire neighborhoods.

One family owned a livestock guardian dog named Odin, a Great Pyrenees whose job was to protect a herd of goats. When evacuation became unavoidable, Odin refused to get into the car.

He stayed behind with the goats, and there was no time left to force him to leave. The family feared they would never see him again.

After the fire passed, they returned to a devastated property expecting the worst. Instead, they found Odin alive. Remarkably, all eight goats had survived as well.

Even more surprising, a young deer had joined the group and was sheltering alongside them.

“A man can sl33p with 30–40 women and still end up marrying a woman who is ready to settle down with him. But a woman can sl33p with 7–10 men and end up being rejected simply because of her past.

There may hardly be any evidence that a man slept with those women, and even if there is, some people may not have a problem with it. But there may be a lot of evidence that a woman slept with 7–10 men.”

— Veteran actor Chiwetalu Agu tells women that what may favour men may not necessarily favour them.
