FUTO VC, Prof. Dozie Seeks FERMA's Intervention to Rehabilitate University Access Roads.
The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO), Prof. Ikechukwu Nosike Simplicius Dozie, has intensified efforts to improve infrastructure within the university by seeking the intervention of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) on the rehabilitation of the institution's access road.

The Vice-Chancellor made the appeal during a courtesy visit to the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of FERMA while on an official trip to Abuja. Prof. Dozie was in the Federal Capital Territory to attend a meeting of the House of Representatives Committee on Procurement, as well as a meeting of Federal Universities offering Medicine convened by the Federal Ministry of Education.

During the visit, Prof. Dozie solicited FERMA's support in addressing the condition of the road leading to the university, stressing the importance of a functional access road to the institution's academic and administrative activities.

Responding, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of FERMA congratulated Prof. Dozie on his appointment as Vice-Chancellor and assured him of the agency's readiness to support the university within the limits of its mandate.

He disclosed that FERMA would engage its technical team to assess the request and explore ways of providing the needed intervention as quickly as possible.

Prof. Dozie expressed appreciation to the FERMA Chief Executive for responding promptly to his request for a meeting despite the short notice. He thanked him for the warm reception and willingness to partner with FUTO in advancing critical infrastructure development for the benefit of the university community.

Today, I proudly stand as a Microbiology graduate. 🎓❤️ I am sincerely grateful to my family for their unwavering support, sacrifices, prayers, and belief in me. FROM ORPHANED DREAMER TO FUTO GRADUATE: Wisdom Eluwa's Story of Triumph Over Adversity Through ICB's Compassion In a world where numerous brilliant dreams are cut short by hardship and lack of opportunity, the story of Master Wisdom Eluwa serves as a shining testament to the life-changing power of compassion, community support, and determination. Wisdom Eluwa, a native of Umuagu Village in Itu Autonomous Community, Ezinihitte Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State, had every reason to give up on his educational aspirations. Having lost his parents and faced with severe financial challenges, the future appeared uncertain for the young man despite his exceptional academic potential. However, in 2021, hope came knocking. After securing admission to study Biochemistry at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), Wisdom reached out to the Itu Concerned Brothers Association (ICB), appealing for sponsorship to enable him pursue his university education. His request was not merely a plea for financial assistance; it was a cry from a determined young man whose dreams hung in the balance. Recognizing the importance of due diligence, ICB, an organization made up of young men united by a passion for uplifting the less privileged, immediately initiated an investigation into Wisdom's claims. The association delegated its then Vice President Mr Chibuchi Uche to verify the authenticity of his admission and ascertain the circumstances surrounding his claim of being orphaned.
