Topic: Going Higher (part 42)
Text: 1 Kings 18:44
What lessons can we learn from Elijah having to pray 7 times before he even saw a fist-sized cloud?
1. You must not share your testimony until it is complete.
1 Kings 18:1, Ephesians 2:2, Daniel 10:1-14
• Many have lost their miracles because they spoke too soon.
2. You must not despise the days of small things.
Zechariah 4:10, Job 8:7
• God specializes in starting small.
Mark 4: 30-32, Genesis 12: 1-3; 46:27, Exodus 12:37
• With God, the smaller the beginning, the greater the ending.
• Materially, God specialises in starting small.
1 Kings 17: 8-16, 2 Kings 4: 1-7, John 6: 5-13
• The seeds of Abraham are innumerable, even though he started with one son. Galatians 3:29
For the Church:
+ Jesus chose 12 apostles initially. Mark 3: 13-14
+ Then increased to 120 people. Acts 2:1-4; 1:15
+ They grew to become 3000 strong. Acts 2:41
+ Then increased to 8120 people. Acts 4:4; 5:14
• If you put your little in God's hands, He has a way of multiplying it.
4. Beware of little foxes (little sins).
Songs of Solomon 2:15, Ecclesiastes 10:1, Ephesians 5: 25-27
• Whatever is 'not too bad' is already bad.
• Kill your little naughty habits before they become big and kill you.
John 12: 1-6, Matthew 26: 14-16; 27: 3-5
• Pay attention to small things.
They make all the difference between succeeding and failing.
• Pay attention to that good thing that is helping you succeed. Luke 12:32
+ The anger inside Moses grew until he challenged God in anger.
Then his anointing became diffused.
Numbers 11: 10-25
And then he smote the rock (Jesus Himself) in anger. Numbers 20: 1-12
• When a tank leaks drop by drop, it eventually empties out.
+ Samson's anointing leaked out until there was nothing left.
Judges 16: 4-21
• Be careful of bad things.
James 2:10
Salvation Call
Just a little bit of sin can block your way to heaven.
Much more if you're swimming in sin, you should hurry now and give your life to Jesus Christ.
Cry to Jesus for the salvation of your soul. Ask Him to make you 100% clean.
