JAMB UPDATE | Thursday, July 2, 2026
Good day, my students.
I know many of you are eager to know what is happening regarding the 2026/2027 admission process. Here are the latest updates you should know today.
1. JAMB Has Ended Admission into Affiliated Degree Programmes in Colleges of Education
Starting from the 2026/2027 admission exercise, JAMB will no longer admit candidates into university-affiliated degree programmes run by Colleges of Education.
If this was your preferred route, do not panic. There are still other admission options available. You may consider changing your institution or exploring the NCE programme where it suits your plans.
2. Change of Course and Institution Is Still Ongoing
If you have realised that your current course or institution may reduce your chances of admission, you can still apply for a change through JAMB.
Please do not make this decision because of pressure from friends. Study your chances carefully before making any changes.
3. Admission Activities Are Gradually Beginning
Many institutions have started preparing for admission.
This is the time to keep checking your JAMB CAPS and your school's admission portal regularly. Missing an important update simply because you were not checking, and would be very unfortunate.π
4. Minimum Admission Benchmarks for 2026/2027
The approved minimum scores are:
Universities: 150
Colleges of Nursing: 140
Polytechnics, Colleges of Education, Monotechnics, and similar institutions: 100
Remember, these are only the minimum benchmarks approved by JAMB. Your preferred institution can still set a higher cut-off mark, especially for competitive courses.
5. Original JAMB Result Slip Printing Is Now Available
If your school requires the Original JAMB Result Slip, you can now proceed with printing it through the appropriate JAMB platform.
Here's My Advice to Every Candidate
β’ Ensure your O'Level result has been uploaded correctly where required.
β’ Keep checking your CAPS and your school's admission portal.
β’ Do not fall for scammers promising admission or special admission connection. Admission is based on merit and the approved admission process. If you get scammed you're on your own π
β’ Always confirm any information you receive before acting on it. False admission news spreads very quickly during this period.
I will continue to keep you updated with verified admission information as it becomes available. Follow this page closely, and if you have any questions, feel free to ask them in the comments.
I wish every genuine candidate success in this admission season.βοΈ
