His Excellency Governor Douye Diri's speech at the just concluded 1st Convocation of the University of Africa Toru-Orua, Sagbama, Bayelsa State.

First, I want to appreciate and thank God for today, the maiden graduation of the University of Africa Toru-Orua.

I also want to, after thanking God, commend my predecessor for his pioneering spirit and his vision, for the bold initiative that he has taken to establish this institution.

I commend Senator Henry Seriake Dickson.

Now to you graduates, let me, on behalf of your own government of assured prosperity and the citizens of Bayelsa State, offer my heartfelt congratulations.

As a government we will continue to have collaborating in topics to tackle the challenges that are facing this university.

I'm aware of the uncompleted Senate building and the auditorium and as we speak Bayelsa State government is taking action on that.

The government is planning and looking at the option of procuring more of public transportation vehicles to ensure that we actually tackle the challenge of transportation in our universities and beyond.

Your state government is working 24 hours to ensure that we have our independent power project.

And the University of Toru-Orua will also benefit from it.

The best graduating students from each program will be offered automatic employment.
