CELEBRATION OF GOD'S GRACE (100 DAYS IN OFFICE)

"Transformation," as they say, is indeed a "process of great change from where one was to where one plans to be so as to have the life one desires..."

Today, being the 17th of March 2024, as we (FAMSSA Executives) mark our 100 days in office, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt appreciation to all Famssaites

We are truly grateful for the opportunity given us to serve as your leaders.

In the past 100 days, we have witnessed your unwavering commitment to excellence, your willingness to embrace challenges, and your remarkable ability to inspire positive change.

Together, we have created a supportive and inclusive environment where every voice is valued and every dream is encouraged.

Among this remarkable and notable transformation are but not limited to:

*OUR SUCCESS STORIES SO FAR........*

*▶️Thanksgiving Service:* A Thanksgiving service was observed in appreciation to God Almighty for the victory He gave us.

*▶️Leadership Summit:* This was an event organised to prepare the leaders in the faculty in response to the tasks ahead.
It's an event that brought great leaders from within and outside the faculty.
It had in attendance great leaders such as Sen. Godwin Edwin, the 5th Students Union's Senate President, Uniuyo, also a prowess in leadership, Sir. Cornel, who came to share their wonderful insight about leadership and also in attendance, was H.E. Comr. Michael Effiong, Faculty President, Faculty of Management Sciences-AKSU.
The event was tagged, The Opening of the Executives and Parliamentarians Service Year. (1.0),

*▶️Payment of Fees:* As part of the maximum transformation agenda, in Academic Revitalization, the Maxwel Ekata-led administration by the grace of God aided the students (Famssaites) in payment of school fees, free registration of courses and settlement of their school charges.

*▶️Friendly Football Game:* Just a day in office, through the office of the Director of Sports and the association's football team, a friendly match was played between FAMSSA and a neighbouring faculty, and victory was brought home.

*▶️Change of Association's Name:* The Maxwel Ekata-led administration with the ever active members of the House of Assembly and her students brought a change of name to the association (FAMSSA).

*▶️Renovation of Famssaites Convenience:* The abandoned students' restrooms were renovated and brought to a good state of use and are now ready to be used after many months of relinquishment.

*▶️Free Tech Training:* First of it kind, an ongoing free 4 months Web Development programme for Famssaites.

*▶️Free Matric Photo Shoot:* As a way of celebrating our newly admitted students and making them enjoy the fun of matriculation, a free photo shoot was organised.

*▶️Bambi House Party:* All work and no play... a social gathering was organised for Famssaites 100L as a means to bond and welcome them to the association.

*▶️Free Live Viewing of AFCON Final Match:* The Maxwel Ekata-led administration during the AFCON final match organised a free live stream of the football match where all Famssaites and non-Famssaites came together to watch and enjoyed the game.

*▶️Faculty Sanitation & Breakfast:* In line with the all-inclusive governance, the Forum of Departmental Presidents, in collaboration with the FAMSSA Executives, organised a cleanup/breakfast session.

*▶️FAMSSA Prayer Summit:* A prayer session for the students in preparation for the previous semester exams and holidays.

*▶️AND MANY OTHERS.....*

As we embark on the next phase of our journey, let us continue to work together, learn from one another, and strive for even greater heights, and with our collective efforts, continued dedication and determination, we are confidence that will achieve remarkable success and rebirth an association of our dream with maximum transformation.

FAMSSA PRAYER SUMMIT!

Prayers are powerful and uplifting activities in the Christendom. The importance of prayer cannot be over emphasised.

On Friday 26th January, 2024, the Maxwel Ekata-led administration through the very first office of the Chaplain of the association, bro. Ndifreke Akpan, a spiritual office, held its first Faculty of Management Sciences Students Association (FAMSSA), spiritual gathering tagged FAMSSA Prayer Summit with the theme; NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE and the bible reference was taken from the book of Luke chapter one verse thirty-seven.

During this remarkable event, FAMSSAites, who came out in their numbers to jointly seek the face of God as they all prepare for their examination, poured out their heart to God through, joyful praises, and profound worship which was led by bro. Praise.

The atmosphere was charged with spirit-lifting songs, heartfelt prayers, and a powerful word that resonated deeply into the lives of the students.

During the word session, the minister, Evang. Shadrach Israel, told the students to depend on God always as He’s the only one who can make the impossible things become possible.

Different prayers were rendered for the students’ leadership of the faculty and also for the success of FAMSSAites in their exams, this session was led by chaplains in various levels and departments in the faculty.

The gathering was not just an event but it was a divine encounter that left an indelible mark on the hearts of many FAMSSAITES.

In attendance were the Faculty President and his executives, Hon. Robert Precious, NUMSA President; H.E. Comr. Inima Ikpe, Mr. Management Sciences; HRH King Rhúby Dayök , NABAF President, Director of Sport and Sec. Gen; H.E. Comr. Mandu Oscar , Comr, Emmanuel Umoren and Comr. Samuel Friday Elijah, the faculty chaplain and his team, students of the faculty, and to crown the event was the presence of the Holy Spirit.

With the success of the summit let's continue to walk in the light of faith and unity in order to secure a better tomorrow.

Remember, if there’s a people to pray, surely there is a God to answer...!

Truly, it was an awesome experience.

THE DAWN OF A NEW BEGINNING

On Tuesday, 23rd day of January 2024, the honourable Speaker of the Faculty of Management Sciences Students House of Assembly, in the person of Rt. Hon. Sir. Darlington Menelesi Sunday led the team and members of the House to the faculty president's office for the presentation of the bill for the renaming of the association.

The bill which was sponsored by a member representing 021,022 and 023 Accounting Constituency, Hon. Precious Robert, Chairman on Events, Media and Publicity, was handled over to the faculty president for his verification, final verdict, and endorsement.

The faculty president, upon receiving the bill, carefully and thoroughly read through it before endorsing his signature.

The executive faculty president, *His Excellency, Maxwel Ekata*, signed into law the Bill for the renaming of the association from National Association of Business Students (NABS) to *FACULTY OF MANAGEMENT SCIENCES STUDENTS ASSOCIATION (FAMSSA)*, University of Uyo Chapter.

Hence, the association's name becomes FAMSSA, which means Faculty of Management Sciences Students Association and her students (members) shall be known as and called FAMSSAITE(S).

All subsequent correspondences and documents are expected to acknowledge the new name.

*May the maximum transformation continue!*

THE SUMMIT!

On Friday 12th January 2024, the Maxwel Ekata-led administration in line with the Maximum Transformation Agenda and in collaboration with the legislative arm of the Faculty of Management Sciences Students' body, organised its very first official event, a one day leadership summit which was targeted at enlightening the two tiers (Paliamentarians and Executives) of government the essence and responsibilities that leadership entails."
The summit, which had different renowned speakers on the field of leadership and legislation, was well graced by leaders across the faculty and other dignitaries.

As promised, the guest speakers were fully prepared as they delivered so much value to the audience.

The first speaker, Mr.Gregory, who spoke about leadership in general, gave the best in making the audience understand their purpose on earth as leaders. He also made the audience (leaders) understand that they were all born to lead in one area or the other. In his final words, he said, "You're not created to be a title holder but to be someone who can take responsibility and give a detailed explanation of the outcome."

"Lawmaking is the primary function of law makers" thus was the starting word of the second guest speaker, Sen. Godwin Edwin, the Senate President of the 5th Students' Union Senate, University of Uyo, as he stood boldly before the audience to lecture on the topic, Ethics of Legislature. He also emphasized the need for synergy between the faculty executives and parliamentarians and ended his lecture with the word that "the legislators should not romance the ignorance of the executives"

Our appreciation goes to all Faculty of Management Sciences Students and our guests who honoured our invitation despite their busy schedule.

Sec., Students Union.
