Through the effort of the Vice Chancellor Prof. Yahaya Isa Bunkure and his Management, Nelfund have graciously approved the extension of its application to 31st March, 2026 for the 2025/2026 Academic Session.

The President of the Students' Representative Council, Federal University of Education, Zaria, Rt. Comr. Yakubu Ibrahim Khalifa, had the honour of receiving Hon. Alh. Sani Mai Chitta and his entourage at his esteemed office in the Dr. Suleiman Balarabe SRC Secretariat for a courtesy visit.

Hon. Alh. Sani warmly congratulated the President on his historic emergence as the youngest SRC President ever and the first from Sabon Gari Local Government.

In response, President Khalifa expressed his sincere appreciation for the visit, describing it as a gesture of encouragement and solidarity that inspires greater commitment to purposeful leadership.

Earlier today, Rt. Comr. Yakubu Ibrahim Khalifa, the Executive President of the Students' Representative Council (SRC), Federal University of Education, Zaria, had the honour of receiving our boss, mentor, and visionary leader, Hon. Aminu Yunusa (Mainan Marmara), on a courtesy and congratulatory visit at his esteemed office at the Dr. Suleiman Balarabe Secretariat.

During the visit, Hon. Aminu Yunusa warmly congratulated the President on his emergence and expressed immense pride in his leadership journey. He pledged his full support to the administration in any way possible and offered rich words of mentorship, leadership guidance, and encouragement. He further extended his heartfelt prayers and best wishes for a successful and impactful tenure.

On the same day, the SRC President also received Hon. Ahmad Tijjani Kabir (Dallatu), a former councillorship aspirant of Muchia Ward, Sabon Gari Local Government, who equally paid a congratulatory visit in honour of this historic victory.

Hon. Dallatu, in his remarks, conveyed his deep congratulations and best wishes, hailing the emergence of Comr. Yakubu as the first SRC President from their esteemed local government. VC’S INSPECTION VISIT: A HISTORIC DAY AT THE SRC SECRETARIAT.

As part of his proactive leadership and commitment to infrastructural development, the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Education, Zaria, Prof. Yahaya Isah Bunkure, today undertook a comprehensive inspection tour of key facilities across the university campus.

In a show of unity and active collaboration between students and management, the President of the Students’ Representative Council (SRC), Rt. Comr. Yakubu Ibrahim Khalifa, warmly received the Vice Chancellor at the Dr. Suleiman Balarabe SRC Secretariat and the SRC Business Centre. This courtesy visit marks a historic moment, symbolizing the administration’s recognition of the pivotal role of student leadership in the development of the university.

The SRC President, joined by key members of his cabinet, also accompanied the Vice Chancellor on his tour of several important student-focused locations, including: Alh. Aliyu Shika Female Students’ Hostel, where the VC inspected rooms and a mosque currently under construction within the premises, Dr. M.I. Maccido Male Students’ Hostel, Students’ Common Rooms, Amb. Jidda Baba Ahmed CBT Centre, Dr. Abbas Tajudeen CBT Centre and the University Clinic.

This tour not only reflects the Vice Chancellor’s deep commitment to students’ welfare but also highlights the university’s ongoing transformation towards improved learning and living environments for all.

SOLIDARITY IN ACTION: SRC PRESIDENT STANDS WITH STUDENTS DURING EXAMS

In a clear demonstration of commitment, compassion, and solidarity, the President of the Students' Representative Council (SRC), Rt. Comr. Yakubu Ibrahim Khalifa , alongside dedicated SRC officials, has been actively present at the Dr. Abbas Tajuddeen CBT Centre throughout the week as NCE II students commenced their Second Semester Examinations of GSE and Education courses.

From Monday to Friday, the President has consistently monitored the preparations and progress of the examinations, ensuring students feel supported, safe, and encouraged.

In a heartwarming gesture, sachet water was shared with students before entering the examination hall, not just as a refreshment, but as a message of unity and presence.

In his words, the President stated:

"We didn’t provide and share this to cover your hunger, but to show you that you have leaders who walk with you, stay with you, and stand with you in every moment that matters."

PRESIDENT RECEIVES FORMER SRC PRESIDENT & COMR. ADNAN AHMAD RAKAH ON COURTESY VISITS

In his continued engagement with stakeholders and student leaders, the President of the Students’ Representative Council (SRC), Rt. Comr. Yakubu Ibrahim Khalifa, yesterday received a courtesy visit from the former SRC President, Comr. Bello Hassan.

STUDENTS' INTEREST FIRST: SRC PRESIDENT EMBARKS ON WELFARE VISIT TO KEY UNITS

In fulfillment of his pledge to serve the students of the Federal University of Education, Zaria with dedication and purpose, the President of the Students' Representative Council (SRC), Rt. Comr. Yakubu Ibrahim Khalifa, alongside some SRC officials, paid official welfare visits to several vital offices across the university today, Tuesday, 02nd October, 2025.

These visits aimed at strengthening partnerships and finding solutions to issues affecting students, especially as the Second Semester examination period approaches.

1. UNIVERSITY SECURITY UNIT:
The President engaged the university’s security leadership to discuss enhanced safety strategies to ensure the peaceful conduct of the examinations and overall student protection across campus.

2. DR. ABBAS TAJUDDEEN UNIVERSITY CBT CENTRE
In preparation for the Second Semester CBT Exams, the President met with staff to discuss exam readiness, logistics, and ways to ensure smooth and stress-free conduct for students.

3. WATER BOARD OFFICE:
Access to water remains a crucial issue for students. The SRC President held discussions with officials to ensure regular supply of clean and sufficient water within the campus community.

4. SCHOLARSHIPS AND LOANS UNIT:
The President also visited Mallam Abdullahi Bashir BawanAllah, the Desk Officer of the University’s Local and International Scholarships & Loan Unit, to follow up on scholarship disbursements and ensure that deserving students receive timely support.

5. MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM (MIS) UNIT:
To ease challenges students face in course registration, ID card processing, and examination slip printing, the SRC discussed with MIS officials for more efficient and student-friendly solutions.

These visits reflect the commitment of Rt. Comr. Yakubu Ibrahim Khalifa’s administration to proactive leadership, transparency, and the delivery of impactful results.
