Korean Dictation Contest
Korean School of Amsterdam
To celebrate Hangeul Day on 9 October, the Korean School of Amsterdam will hold a
Korean Dictation Contest on 3 October. This event is open to adult learners of Korean
and is intended to provide an enjoyable opportunity for them to test their Korean skills.
The contest is also designed to help learners develop greater interest and confidence in
learning Korean. We would appreciate it if Korean language teachers could share this
information with their students and encourage them to participate.
1. Who Can Participate?
The contest is open to all adult learners studying Korean as a foreign language.
2. Level Assessment
When registering, participants are required to complete the online Korean level test using
the link below. They must enter their test score and upload a screenshot of the result on
the registration form.

4. Contest Format and Content
Participants will listen to sentences and short passages read aloud by the host and write
them down accurately within the given time.
The questions will cover vocabulary and sentences related to everyday life, as well as
expressions commonly used in Korea. There will be a range of questions, from relatively
easy ones to more challenging ones.
5. Schedule
ο‚· 10:05–11:45 Korean pronunciation lecture by Dr. Hyong Sil Cho
ο‚· 12:00–13:00 Korean Dictation Contest
ο‚· 13:00–13:40 Games and activities
ο‚· 13:40 Awards ceremony
Contest participants can also attend the Korean pronunciation lecture before the
competition. A light lunch will be provided for competition participants only.
6. Prizes
We hope this event will give Korean learners an opportunity to celebrate the meaning of
Hangeul Day and enjoy a memorable experience with other learners. We look forward to
