The first programmes of the summer will kick off this weekend! ☀️ To better plan your days off, here is part two of our “Places to visit” guide!
1. Discover Paradiso, a unique event space in a former church. With an impressive lineup of concerts each week, it’s the ideal spot to experience both popular and emerging artists. If you’re a concert lover, be sure to add this venue to your Amsterdam bucket list.
2. Check out Kriterion, a cozy cinema near Roeterseiland campus- the campus you’ll frequent during your time in Amsterdam. Founded by students in 1945, the cinema still serves the student crowd, arthouse cinema fans, and loyal locals 65 years later.
3. The Amsterdam based artist Street art Frankey, known for his urban intervention art, is showcasing his latest works at Wanrooij Gallery in June. “Frankey’s Wildhouse” features vibrant murals, detailed stencils, and interactive installations.
4. Discover Sloterplas Beach in Amsterdam West! Perfect for picnics, swimming, or relaxing with a book, it’s a popular spot for locals and a great place to unwind!
5. Visit Foam Photography Museum in the heart of Amsterdam, showcasing all forms of photography, from art to photojournalism. This summer, FOAM is showcasing “The Rebels” by Janette Beckman, documenting underground movements and social justice, and “Photography Through the Lens of AI,” examining how AI impacts our perception of reality.
We hope that these recommendations inspire your time in Amsterdam and make you more excited for the upcoming summer adventures! See you soon! 🌻
