The end of an era: after nearly twenty years as a driving force behind academic entrepreneurship, ACE is coming to an end.

Since its founding in 2007, ACE has played a key role in supporting scientists and students in bringing their ideas and inventions to market. Hundreds of startups have received guidance through ACE, and even more students, alumni, and researchers found inspiration in its short, interactive entrepreneurship programs. ACE’s success was made possible by the dedication of many. Your support and involvement has been invaluable, and we want to sincerely thank you for that.

While ACE is coming to an end, Amsterdam UMC, Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, University of Amsterdam, and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) remain committed to supporting academic startups and entrepreneurs as they take their next steps.

We cherish all that has been accomplished and the lasting impact on the academic entrepreneurship ecosystem. Most of all, we look forward to seeing the next generation of innovators rise and make their mark.

The Fall '23 edition of the program was kicked off this week under the guidance of Maria Angel-Sitruk at Startup Village Amsterdam. Ever since, the founders received a cohort-building session to connect with their peers by Bas Rogaar and Jurriaan Rogaar, an informative onboarding session by David Gjerde (representing Acterio) and a valuable expert session by Regan Kirk to get them started on customer validation.
