When the new academic year starts, a lot of the committees will be formed, which means it is time to think about which committee(s) you would like to join next year! We are looking for enthusiastic committee members for the academic year 2026/2027! As a committee member you can:

• Have the unique opportunity of getting in touch with future employers;
• Come up with new and exciting activities organised by yourself;
• Develop your organisational skills;
• Work on your CV;
• Improve your soft skills;
• Learn to work with deadlines;
• Take Kraket to a higher level;
• Get to know (even) more Kraketters.

Do you want to be an active member of Kraket and do you think you have the required commitment? Then apply for one or more committee(s)! You can join a committee by sending a short motivation to [email protected] or by filling in the form on the website before the deadline on 𝐖𝐞𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝐧𝐝!

The Charity Committee contacts different charities that we can possibly organise an event for. During the first General Assembly of the year, there will be voted which charity will be chosen. They organise a charity auction to raise money and they organise three more activities, one of which is with the chosen charity.

The Content Committee is responsible for supporting the Marketing Online Officer of Kraket in creating various Instagram posts and TikTok videos for our social media channels. You will also have the freedom to come up with new ideas to help innovate and improve our social media presence. Additionally, you will be responsible for taking photos of the committee for use on our website.

Lack of diversity is an issue that is central in many companies. So, we as Kraket want to address this problem. The Diversity and Development Day Committee organizes a day where these topics will come to light. This event is moreover a formal event where first year students are allowed to come. Next to diversity, also development will be a focuspoint of the day. Fun workshops, interesting speakers and speed dating with many companies will be organized.

They are here to support you whether you’ve been feeling down, wish to report an incident, need assistance finding professional help, or anything else on your mind. They truly encourage you to reach out.

All conversations are confidential, and this is taken very seriously. You can email them at [email protected]. If you would prefer to speak with someone outside of Kraket, the VU also offers a wide range of support options.

Are you starting a master’s in Econometrics, Data Science or Operations Research at VU Amsterdam this September? Then join us at the Masterday on Thursday, August 27!

The Masterday is the introduction day for new master students. There will be information sessions, company case studies with different companies, as well as plenty of opportunities to meet your fellow students during a lunch, drinks, and a barbecue. The walk-in starts at 10:30 on the VU campus and the formal part of the day will be finished around 17:00. Afterwards we will have a barbecue at Uilenstede, which is 10 minutes away both by bike and public transport. You are not required to join us for the barbecue, but we would love to see you there! The programme of the day will be as follows:

10:30 - Walk-in
11:00 - Opening and presentations by programme coordinators
11:45 - Information sessions by Kraket, Career Services and Study Advisors
12:30 - Lunch
13:30 - Company cases
15:30 - Drinks
17:00 - Barbecue at Uilenstede
20:00 - Expected end time

There are no registration costs and the lunch and barbecue are provided by Kraket. The Masterday is completely free!

With the academic year coming to an end, we want to thank you for an amazing year!

We’ve truly had a fantastic year with all our members, all our brother and sister associations, and all the Kraket activities. We really want to thank everyone for that.

Have a great summer and enjoy your free time!
