THREE TENORS!
No fewer than three DNOA tenors are taking part in the International Vocal Competition (IVC) ’s-Hertogenbosch, which starts today.
TOI TOI TOI to Oscar Sajous, Cathal McCabe, and recent graduate Milan de Korte, now a member of the ensemble at Oper Wuppertal.

What a wonderful surprise to see a review of Pimpinone and A Hand of Bridge in Place de l'Opera this weekend! Bravi to cast and crew of this double bill that performed at the Klassiek op het Amstelveld festival last week. We're very grateful that we can continue our yearly tradition of performing here, free for all to attend!

The singers of Barber's A Hand of Bridge formed "a strong ensemble that wonderfully presented the heated build-up at the card table/heel sterk ensemble dat de spanningsvolle stijging van de temperatuur aan de kaarttafel krachtig in beeld brengt." And Jaap van der Wel showed his "comedic talent" in Pimpinone 😍

Thanks as well to directors Ivet Serra (A Hand of Bridge) and Annemiek van Elst (Pimpinone), as well as our one-man orchestra, Daan Boertien , for their incredibly hard work getting these two shows up.

Last week, Klassiek op het Amstelveld served as the stage for the first productions of the year: Telemann's Pimpinone and Barber's A Hand of Bridge (pictured)!

These one-act operas were free for the public to enjoy and gave our new artists an introduction to the DNOA, the city and each other!

Maura Wesseling, Oscar Sajous, Marc Eden Lemaire and Madeline Lee were featured in Samuel Barber's A Hand of Bridge. Daan Boertien (piano) and regisseur Ivet Serra.

So proud of all the DNOA alumni taking part in this show with Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century! Michael, Peter, Hannah and Benjamin (conductor!) all made their way through the DNOA, and Hannah even sang this show while studying here 😍
