This LSE professor is known as 'the anarchist anthropologist' and supported the Occupy movement wholeheartedly. He's in the picture again because of his new book about 'bu****it jobs'. Will the new privacy law protect us Europeans against the Big Data crooks? Anthropologist and information scientist Allison Cool doesn't think so: the law's too complex. She proposes to do more empirical research on how people handle data privacy, so that more practical rules can be made instead. At VU Amsterdam, we believe there is a big future for anthropologists studying how people use technology. 🕵️‍♀️📱

Yes, we need rules on how companies collect and store our personal information. But this isn’t the right way to do it.
