Derek Bass and Mario Tafferner represented Tyndale at the bi-annual FEET (Fellowship of European Evangelical Theologians) conference, held in Golem, Albania. This is a gathering of theologians from across Europe to explore the vital themes facing evangelicalism in Europe today.

This year’s conference theme was “Faithful in Times of Turmoil: Responses to Conflicts, War, and Nationalism in Europe.”

Derek and Mario had the opportunity to deliver papers at this year's conference. Derek presented on the book of Joel. Mario presented on the book of Nahum and on the relationship between Luke and Josephus.

Pray there would be gospel-fruit across Europe from the discussions and important matters that were considered at this conference.

This year’s Johnston Lectures, with Daniel Strange, explored how we understand and study “religion” today, and what a distinctly theological approach might look like.

The theme, “Unmasking ‘Religion’: Theological Religious Studies for the 21st Century,” looked at how we understand and study religion from a theological perspective. Across three lectures, Daniel considered the history and construction of “religion,” made the case for recovering elenctics—the call to faith and repentance in Christ—and explored what theological religious studies means for the church, the academy, and the public square.

Great Commission Week may be finished, but the Mission is not!

Student Highlight | Meet Reagan, 🇬🇭 Ghana

Before coming to Tyndale, Reagan was a missionary with OneWay Africa in the northern part of Ghana. Here he was showing the Jesus Film and doing sports ministry to reach out to the the Gonjas (an unreached people group in North Ghana).

Reagan is pursuing the Master of Divinity degree, in the hope to continue with reaching young people through sports. He was also elected by his fellow students to serve as the Vice President of the Student Life Committee here at Tyndale.

"I wanted to get theological education to be better able to reach people and to be better equipped for anything God has in store for me, which is what brought me to Tyndale."

🌍 Great Commission Week | Student Highlight

Meet Joey, 🇬🇭 Ghana

Before coming to Tyndale, Joey spent over seven years as an engineer in the civil and oil & gas sectors. Alongside his technical career, he also taught music, creative arts, and Religious and Moral Education at an Assemblies of God missions school in Ghana.

Joey is pursuing the Master of Divinity degree, in the pursuit of entering into youth ministry and eventually to plant a church. He also volunteers on the Tyndale Music Team.

"I chose Tyndale because it is cross cultural and the school’s core mission is to equip students for ministry. I want to combine my musical background with sound theology to reach the youth in my country (Ghana) who have lost faith in God and the church. I plan to use my MDiv studies and my experience in music and creative arts to build a space that specifically engages and re-connects the younger generation with their faith."

🌍 It’s Great Commission Week at Tyndale.

This week, we will celebrate and learn about the cultures of our current students from the continents of Africa and the Americas.

From the cities and villages of Africa to communities across North, Central, South America, and the Caribbean, God is at work through our past and current students—sharing the Gospel, planting churches, establishing schools, raising leaders, serving communities, and making disciples.

🙏 Let’s pray for Africa: for boldness, unity, spiritual renewal, and for the Gospel to reach every community. According to the Joshua Project, approximately 536 million people are unreached across this continent.

🌎 Let’s pray for the Americas: for open doors, transformed lives, strong local churches, and for believers to faithfully live out the Great Commission.

📖 “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations…” — Matthew 28:19

Let’s pray, give, go, and send—because the Great Commission is for all of us, and every nation matters.

Our Tyndale Lectures Series are an opportunity for us to introduce our students to excellent scholarship of fellow believers.

Thank you, Daniel Strange, for three engaging lectures and entertaining our many questions at our 3rd annual Johnston Lectures. From rethinking the term 'Religion' to your apology for elenctics to engaging in an elenctic theology in the academy, the church, and the public square, he served us so well!
