De studenten van de minor NextGen Topsport Events waren weer op pad! Deze keer bezochten de topsportomgeving van Rotterdam. Docent Liedewei Ratgers vertelt je er het volgende over;

“Vandaag was de laatste dag van de cursus Beleving en Impact van de minor NextGen Topsport Events. Wat een heerlijke afsluiter.

Gerda IJff heeft ons verteld over Rotterdam Topsport en het succes van de organisatie van Grand Depart en tijdrit van Tour de Femme 2024 in Rotterdam. Daarna mochten we kijken bij de Holland Masters Dans op de vloer en achter de schermen. Hannie, een oud-topsport danseres, kon ons er alles over vertellen, maar ook de dansers hebben ons leuke insights gegeven.

Dank allemaal voor deze leuke laatste fieldtrip. En dank aan de studenten voor jullie interesse dusver. We zijn nog niet klaar met de minor, op naar de volgende cursus en het project 💪🏼.”

✨SPECIALISATION HIGHLIGHT: LIVE MUSIC AND DANCE EVENTS✨

“Live music and creating meaningful experiences has driven me to choose this specialisation. From creative concepting and strategic marketing to hands-on production. Live Music and Dance Events covers it all! Because of the real-life clients and the practical approach, I already have the feeling I can make a difference within an industry where everything starts with music.”

✨SPECIALISATION HIGHLIGHT✨

Kim tells us why she chose Urban Life and Placemaking as her specialization:

“Hi! I am Kim and I am currently studying Leisure and Event Management, specialising in urban life and placemaking (ULP).

I chose this specialisation because it allows me to co-create cities, places and events together with the people that are involved. I believe that it is very important as the future of event managers to give the people who are involved a say and to work together as much as possible!

Throughout this year, ULP offered me a great community and learning environment. We did a lot of exciting field trips to cities in the netherlands (check out the videos on our page!). And next year, we are all moving abroad for 5 months! Our class will be spending time in Krakow, Bologna, Trondheim and Thessaloniki, which is a unique aspect of our specialisation. I am beyond excited to move to Krakow next year, together with fellow students!“

“The most interesting aspect of this master’s programme is that you join a class full of young professionals, each working within the events sector, and each bringing their own knowledge and expertise. These diverse backgrounds ensure that you learn not only from the lecturers but also significantly from your fellow students. It’s a dynamic learning environment where practical knowledge is frequently applied, and many concrete examples from the sector are used during classes.”
