Pressure has a way of revealing our leadership habits.

When certainty disappears, do we listen more carefully or rush to solve? Do we stay open to other perspectives, or fall back on the assumptions and behaviours that feel most familiar?

Workshop 2 of the Masterclass Future-Ready Leadership focuses on the personal side of leading through uncertainty. Participants reflect on their own strengths, patterns and triggers, and consider how they can respond more consciously when circumstances become difficult.

What helps an experienced leader continue to grow?

For MBA graduate Aden M. Hudle, it meant taking time to examine his own approach, question assumptions and consider other perspectives.

Aden serves as Director General of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change in Jubaland State, Federal Republic of Somalia. Through his research and reflection, he developed a more considered approach to decisions and greater attention to helping colleagues contribute and develop.

His experience offers useful questions for anyone reflecting on their own leadership.

The pressure to meet targets, maintain performance and deliver results can sometimes come at a cost. Difficult decisions are postponed, vulnerabilities are overlooked and shortcuts become accepted practice. Over time, these choices create leadership debt, leaving organisations exposed to risks that even the most advanced cybersecurity systems cannot address on their own.

Join us for the next Goodmorning BSN! session as Dr Sylvia Sathekge, Chief Information Officer at the National Health Laboratory Service, explores Mastering Cyber Resilience: Overcoming Leadership Debt and Engineering a High-Integrity Culture. The discussion will examine why cyber resilience is as much a leadership and organisational culture challenge as it is a technological one.

Joining her as reflector is Abiodun Olushola, General Manager at Soft Alliance, who will consider the implications for business leaders and the role of accountability, sound judgement and organisational integrity in strengthening resilience.
