Dear Donors and Sponsors and everybody who made this possible, in The Netherlands and around the world,

Sometimes, a single act of generosity can change the course of someone's life. Thanks to your commitment, support and generosity, 14 Rotary IHE-Delft Scholarships for the year 2026-2027 have been made possible for young professionals at IHE-Delft Institute for Water Education.

For each of these scholars, this scholarship represents much more than financial assistance. It is a vote of confidence, a recognition of their talent and potential, and a unique opportunity to further develop into professionals who will contribute to addressing the world's pressing water challenges. Our program is a substantial and practical contribution to Rotary's aims to invest in future leaders, provide clean water and protect the environment

Behind every scholarship is a young professional with aspirations, determination, and a desire to use the knowledge and skills gained at IHE-Delft to make a positive impact in their home country and beyond. By investing in these students, you are investing in a future where expertise, collaboration, and sustainable water management help build stronger and more resilient communities across the world. The 14 scholars come from many different countries and regions, covering mainly East and West Africa, South-, East- and SE-Asia and South America.

This is something to be truly proud of. Without your support, these 14 Rotary IHE-Delft Scholarships would simply not have been possible. Your generosity and dedication have made a meaningful difference, and for that, we are sincerely and deeply grateful.

On behalf of the scholars, IHE-Delft, and everyone involved in the activities of the Rotary IHE-Delft Scholarship Committee, thank you for making these opportunities possible. We hope you feel connected to the students whose futures you are helping to shape and take pride in the lasting impact of your support.

Thank you for your trust, your commitment, and your investment in the water leaders of tomorrow.

With our sincere appreciation,

On behalf of the Rotary IHE-Delft Scholarship Committee,

Rotary Alumni Lead Global Water Solutions

IHE Delft graduates return home to deliver safe water projects in partnership with Rotary International

From time to time, Rotary International receives updates about IHE Delft alumni who, after completing their Master’s degree at the prestigious IHE Delft Institute for Water Education, have returned to their home countries to contribute their expertise to vital water initiatives. These projects, often implemented in close collaboration with Rotary International, highlight the global impact of investing in talented professionals through educational opportunities.

One such example is Mrs. Anum Javed from Pakistan, a Rotary IHE Delft alumna who currently serves as Director (Water Supply) at the Water and Sanitation Agency in Rawalpindi.

Mrs. Javed recently shared:
"An inauguration ceremony was held for the newly installed water filtration plant, aimed at providing the local community with access to safe and clean drinking water. The project was implemented by the local Rotary Club, and I had the honor of being involved in this initiative.

The event was graced by the presence of the following distinguished representatives of Rotary International:"

- Francesco Arezzo, President, Rotary International
- Holger Knaack, Trustee Chair, The Rotary Foundation
- Michael McGovern, Chair, Rotary International PolioPlus Committee
- Aziz Memon, Chair, Pakistan National PolioPlus Committee

This initiative exemplifies the transformative role that Rotary can play in communities worldwide by empowering promising professionals to pursue a Master’s degree in Water Management at the IHE Delft Institute for Water Education through Rotary-funded scholarships.

Every year, the 4 Delft Rotary clubs jointly organise the Santa Run. As in previous years, a group of students from IHE Delft was also present to take part in this fantastic initiative. Because with their participation, the students show their commitment to this Rotary initiative.

In order not to burden the students with costs, Fedde Sonnema of RC Delft Vrijhof and Carlo Nash of RC Voorburg-Vliet have decided to take care of the students' entry fees for the 2024 edition of the Delft Santa Run on behalf of their clubs. A great example of RCs from D1600 working together.
