This group is meant for contact between the Aerospace Engineering students, and the AE Faculty Student Council (FSC AE). If you have any questions, complaints or recommendations regarding the Aerospace faculty or study programme, this is the right place!

Here we are, the Faculty Student Council AE 2020-2021. As FSC we represent Aerospace Engineering students' interests and provide valued input for the decision making of the faculty TU Delft | Aerospace Engineering.

We do this by actively monitoring our students' well-being, we collect their complaints or questions regarding examination regulations and gather their questions and suggestions.

The FSC-AE 2020-2021 constitutes:

Slogan: "A creative mind to improve the troubled times!"

Dear aerospace students,

These times have given a lot of troubles. I think a creative mind is needed for this, this is why I am running for the faculty student council. I am very curious how the backlog of us will be solved. I wondered the last few days about how they are going to support not only national, but especially the international students that could obtain troubles. I want to be there for all of you next year and I hope you want someone like me too!

Slogan: "Enjoy the path of your education, not just the destination."

Dear student,

My name is Yara Hinssen, I am currently a 3rd year BSc AE student. I would love to be part of the FSC next year and try to make a slight difference for the benefit of all of us. I believe that the faculty and especially the communication between the faculty and the students can be improved. If I were to be elected I would try my best to work on the present issues and make it easier for all students to know what is going on and keep up to date. With my experience in committees as active member of the VSV and other extracurricular activities I feel like I would be a good fit for the FSC, and I would love to get your vote!

In these posts the candidates for the upcoming elections will introduce themselves and state their motivation for becoming FSC. Of course, we cannot meet in person right now, so some candidates have included a short video to compensate. Now it's our fifth candidate's turn, Gijs Vugts.

Slogan: "Quality education, no matter the situation."

My name is Gijs and I am a second year master student in the Control and Simulation track. In my (almost) five years at this faculty, I have had the chance to explore the life as a student of Aerospace Engineering. During my time as a Faculty Council Member I would like to keep the quality of the education, as well as the studying experience as high as possible while taking every opportunity to improve the study life for the students. If elected, I can put all my effort in keeping the faculty as one of the best in Europe, even in these difficult times. This can only be achieved if the faculty is transparent about their measures and next steps, and open about what students can do.

In these posts the candidates for the upcoming elections will introduce themselves and state their motivation for becoming FSC. Our fourth candidate is Naman Sachdeva.

Slogan: "Representation of all is the presentation of Unity."

Every year, more and more international students are coming to TU Delft in order to gain the quality education and to grow whole as a person. This is the reason we need to have an international representation on the table.
I believe I can represent the International Community, their needs and their concerns in the university as well as in the department. Also, I have some ideas in my mind which I would like to implement in order to make the faculty better. For example, The faculty and the whole university is committed towards sustainability but I have seen there is a lot of wastage of electricity in the lecture rooms and cafeteria when no one is sitting over there. Also, sometimes it's hard for people from Asia to blend in the European culture in the beginning, there can be multiple events in the beginning to blend all the cultures within the faculty.

Slogan: “A continuous improvement on education”

As students, we are lucky to have many rights. We are also lucky to have bodies like the central and faculty student councils to protect these rights. This year we worked a lot on closing the gap between the faculty and students, as there are already great initiatives going on but these might still be unknown to students. There are also a lot of new ideas regarding education, sustainability and inclusion. Did you know that next to the academic counsellors and student psychologists, we also have a diversity & inclusion officer and an LGBTQ+ confidant?

Do you want to contribute to the well-being of your peers? Do you want to have a say in important decisions made in the faculty? Do you want to help improve education and ensure the best facilities possible are available?

The Faculty Student Council is a legal student body that's elected yearly. The FSC has a say in a lot of things going around in the faculty! In May, the elections for the 2020-2021 students councils take place. If you want to be put on the FSC candidate list, send an email to [email protected]!

Due to DSE we try to get extra study spaces by opening up lecture rooms, each monday we will post where the extra places will be!

This week lecture room J will be available for study purposes on the following times:

Wednesday 19/6 from 13:00 till 22:00
Thursday 20/6 from 08:00 till 22:00

Slogan: Go for the best study experience!

Hi! I am Gijs, and I am a first year master student at Control and Simulation. These past four years I have greatly enjoyed studying at our faculty. Since I did my bachelors here, and am now in my first year of the master, I have hands-on experienced the program and can relate to how we can improve it!

My goals as a FSC member is to stay active in improving the study experience within the faculty. This by means of keeping the educational standards high, and become more transparent in the options students have outside the faculty. From my experience in the VSV, I learned a lot about the inner workings of the faculty of Aerospace Engineering. I would like to use this experience in order to improve your study time, for master as well as bachelor students!
