Symposium topic at NOS:

Space at sea is the last of the three topics that will be discussed at the symposium. The sea covers 70% of the Earths surface. With a growing population we will need to utilize this space. In the North Sea there are multiple projects going on to use the space. The NOS has published an article about the North Sea in which Han Lindeboom, a speaker at the symposium, talks about the options and the problems. You can find the article here (it is in Dutch). During the symposium Jan van Kessel , Han Lindeboom and Maarten Claringbould will discuss the future of Space at Sea and you will be able to ask them all the questions you have regarding the subject!

De Lustrumweek is van start gegaan! Zorg dat je je Lustrumdas, strikje en bretels ophaalt zodat jij er op elke Lustrumactiviteit dit jaar goed bijloopt!

In the beginning of May we had our annual foreign excursion and this year we visited Romania with a group of 35 students and our lecturer Peter Wellens. Our students had an eye opening week and we would like to thank all the companies and especially the university for making this unforgettable trip possible.

Two weeks ago we went on board the Munich Maersk, one of the biggest and most efficient container vessels currently on the seas. We would like to thank the captain Wim Postma in particular for making this visit possible.

Last week a group of 19 international Master students of SMT visited Jumbo and MARIN for two case studies. In the first, they have considered the transportation of a heavy lift crane through a vessel of the Jumbo fleet. Furthermore, at MARIN, they designed a futuristic zero-emission solution for transportation over the Atlantic. We would like to thank both companies for these two amazing cases!

Vorige week woensdag is de FUN Casedag georganiseerd in samenwerking met Svs UNFC uit Rotterdam en Studievereniging Navigo Ergo Sum - NES uit Leewarden. Er waren in totaal 80 maritieme studenten aanwezig vanuit alle drie de studieverenigingen.

Graag willen wij C-Job Naval Architects en Damen Schelde Naval Shipbuilding bedanken als hoofdsponsoren van de dag en voor het geven van de ochtendcases.
Daarnaast bedanken wij ook Bureau Veritas, Boskalis, Feadship, Nevesbu en Royal IHC voor de middagcases!
