SvBMT Protagoras

Studievereniging der BioMedische Technologie "Protagoras". Ook organiseren we 5 keer per jaar een BMT-feest in onze stamkroeg Villa Fiesta.

Elke dag is het Prothok en In Vivo in Traverse van 9 tot 5 open voor elke student om een lekker blikje te halen of om uit te rusten van de colleges. Protagoras is de studievereniging van de opleiding BioMedische Technologie (BMT) aan de Technische Universiteit Eindhoven (TU/e). Buiten dat je hier dus lekker kan uitrusten van het studeren organiseren we ook elke week een borrel op donderdag in onze

borrelruimte In Vivo van 4 tot 7. Bijna elke week zorgt een van de commissies wel voor een activiteit zodat je altijd leuke dingen met je mede-studenten kan doen! Dus kijk op onze website (www.protagoras.tue.nl) of kom langs in het Prothok.

Het zonnetje buiten schijnt en daarom is het ook weer tijd voor nieuwe protters in het zonnetje! We willen graag Joost en Nordin bedanken omdat ze een aantal weken geleden de oude tafelvoetbaltafel van Gemini-Noord naar Vector verplaatst hebben. We zien iedereen graag in Prothok 2 voor een potje tafelvoetbal!

“Change the game, set the standard” was the marketing slogan used by Fortimedix Surgical prior to its acquisition by Medtronic in November 2024, and it still perfectly captures the essence of the company today. Under the banner of Medtronic Articulating Technologies, the team in Geleen is working on groundbreaking innovations that will change the future of surgery. The patented technology distinguishes itself from conventional techniques in its operating principle. This ingenious solution improves performance, functionality and minimizes cost. The Articulating Technologies team develop a wide range of steerable instruments and catheters for various medical applications. Under one roof, products, processes and equipment are developed and built. In this lecture we will share the remarkable story of Fortimedix and give you some insights into the technology, how it’s made and some of the challenges of the technical projects we are leading today.

The lunch lecture organized by Simon Stevin and Protagoras will take place on May 7th from 12:40-13:20. So make sure to subscribe before May 6th and get free lunch!

Biomedical co-creates innovative medical device with other companies, therefore every second of every day, a patient receives an implantable medical device featuring a biomaterial from Biomedical.

They specialize in hydrophilic coatings, medical polyurethanes, natural biomaterials, and they work on sustained drug delivery solutions. Areas that they focus on are for example diabetes, orthopaedics, vascular, and disease prevention and management!

The lunch lecture is in collaboration with study association Japie and lunch will be included!
