TU/e Chemical Engineering and Chemistry

TU/e Chemical Engineering and Chemistry Department of Chemical Engineering and Chemistry at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) This results in research that is not only fundamental.

Chemical Engineering and Chemistry is one of the nine departments of the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) in The Netherlands. The department prides itself on the high quality research in the field of process technology and molecular science in which we collaborate extensively with industry. But also contributes to solve societal challenges in sustainability, health and energy transition.

We achieve this thanks to 16 full-time and 6 part-time professors, 190 doctoral candidates and 45 trainee design engineers. Our state of the art laboratory facilities occupy 12,000 m2 and facilitate these very driven researchers. Annually we equip over 600 bachelor and master students with knowledge and skills to pursue a successful academic career or play an distinguished and innovative roll in R&D in the chemical industry. Our English spoken education attracts students from all over the world.

Lifecode Nutrition is a student startup founded by two brothers with a mission to make athlete nutrition smarter, simpler, and more effective. 🏅🚣

One of the founders, Alexandru Railean, is a first-year Chemical Engineering & Chemistry student at TU/e, applying science and engineering to develop nutrition solutions tailored to athletes.

They’re building precision supplement stacks and an AI-powered nutrition platform to help athletes optimize performance, recovery, and health. 📱

They recently presented their project at the TU/e Contest, showcasing their work alongside other student innovations.

Wishing them the best of luck as they continue developing and scaling the project 🚀

Meet (Powered by Team FLOW), who are now participating in the TU/e contest!

Traditional boat propellers are loud, disrupt marine ecosystems, and physically damage fragile habitats like coral reefs. 🪸🐠

Meet the team behind the project: Francesco, Jaehoon, Doruk, and Daniel are developing a Magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) propulsion system to revolutionize marine travel. By using electromagnetic fields instead of propellers, their motor offers a silent, sustainable, sea-life safe alternative to traditional engines.

Good luck!🍀 We’re excited to see what’s ahead!

Proud of Beetle juice! 🥳
Beetle Juice is a team of third-year Chemical Engineering students developing energy-free water harvesting technology inspired by desert beetles. 🪲🪲🪲

Using smart materials, they capture moisture from the air and convert it into usable water without electricity or complex infrastructure. Their solution provides a reliable, autonomous water source for smallholder farmers in semi-arid, high-humidity regions, supporting year-round irrigation and resilient livelihoods.

They were previously awarded First Runner-Up in the TU/e Contest and Winner of EuroTeQaThon 2025, and have now been selected for the Philips Innovation Awards among 10 other teams out of 200 participating teams, joining the Rough Diamond League to participate in the semifinals.
They are now embarking on a journey of coaching and investor days leading up to the semifinals in April.

We are very proud and wish them good luck on their journey!
