🎪 What a week in Timișoara!

The E³UDRES² International Engagement Circus 2026 brought together over 60 students from 9 European countries at Politehnica University Timișoara for a week filled with fresh ideas, collaboration, new connections and shared experiences!

From inspiring keynote sessions and hands-on workshops to exploring innovation spaces across Timișoara, meeting local entrepreneurs and working together on real-world challenges, each day brought new opportunities to learn, exchange perspectives and turn ideas into solutions.

💡 Throughout the week, international teams explored digital literacy, cybersecurity, AI ethics and sustainable digital practices, bringing together different backgrounds, skills and perspectives. The experience culminated in the presentation of their projects, showcasing the creativity, teamwork and dedication developed along the way.

But beyond the workshops, visits and presentations, it was the people who made this week special. New friendships, meaningful conversations, shared challenges and plenty of memorable moments brought the E³UDRES² community even closer together.

A big thank you to all the students, mentors, speakers, organisers and partners who made this experience possible!

🎪 The International Engagement Circus is back, and this time we’re in Timișoara! 🇷🇴

Today, we welcomed over 60 students from 9 European countries to Politehnica University Timișoara for the start of the E³UDRES² International Engagement Circus 2026.

The first day was all about getting to know each other, exchanging ideas and discovering what’s ahead. From the official opening and keynote talks to visits to UPT labs and the first conversations between participants, IEC 2026 is off to a great start!

💡 Over the next few days, students, university staff and mentors will come together for workshops, real-world challenges and visits to Timișoara’s innovation spaces, exploring this year’s digital themes.

International researchers, entrepreneurs and ecosystem gather in Riga to explore virtual reality in healthcare.🌍

Around 80 participants, including speakers from Latvia, the United States, Austria, Finland, Türkiye, Belgium, Germany, United Kingdom, France and other countries, gathered in Riga on October 8–9, 2026, for the 8th Annual Virtual Reality and Healthcare Europe Symposium ’26.🤝

A highlight of the second day was the startup pitch competition, where eight startups presented their solutions and competed for opportunities to develop their businesses and reach international audiences.

🥇1st place took VeinOptima - startup that makes blood taking easier and faster, winning two passes and exhibition space at UnitedXR ’26, Tampa ’27, AWE ’27 and Barcelona ’27, alongside pitch training worth €3,000. Its prize package also included international business support, product validation expertise and access to facilities through LeapXR and XR4EUROPE.

Diana Pershtein-Lapkis also presented a special prize: an Investment Readiness Consultation, jointly offered by Women Innovate and the NewDoor Impact Business Platform. The consultation will help the winning startup assess its investment readiness, strengthen its business strategy and prepare for future fundraising opportunities.

🥈2nd place Melu - AI-powered VR companion that helps seniors beat loneliness , receiving two passes and exhibition space at Tampa ’27 and Barcelona ’27, as well as pitch training worth €2,000.

🥉3rd place - WEARE AR - XR solution that helps visually impaired people detect otherwise invisible thermal and other hazards and live more independently , winning two passes and exhibition space at Tampa ’27 and Barcelona ’27, together with pitch training worth €1,000.

The event was organised by IVRHA in collaboration with Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences, with financial support from the LEAPXR project.

🌀 A Portal Across Europe

EU Wormholes transformed screens into gateways, bringing senior researchers and PhD candidates from across Europe, including the Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Austria, and beyond, directly into public spaces in St. Pölten.

Through screens, visitors could meet the people behind the science, ask questions, and explore ideas that travel far beyond borders.

A heartfelt thank you to the researchers who shared their worlds, and to every visitor who stepped through the wormholes with curiosity and openness. Together, you helped turn distance into dialogue. 💙

During this year's European Researchers' Night at University of Applied Sciences St. Pölten/Hochschule St. Pölten , our Drag Story Hour created a welcoming space where imagination, curiosity, creativity, and inclusion we're the main character! Through storytelling, laughter, and conversations, participants of all ages explored new perspectives and celebrated the diversity that enriches our communities and pushes them forward!

Meet our new E³UDRES² Student Board! 🌍💜

This year, Marcel, Manon, Dina, Kim and Chi-chi will represent the student voice at Saxion within E³UDRES².

Different studies, interests, backgrounds and plenty of their own reasons for getting involved.

Swipe to get to know them a little better 👋

Marcel is a fourth-year Applied Psychology student from Zwolle.

Besides being involved in student participation at Saxion, he enjoys running, plays padel every Saturday morning and tries to make some time for reading during the holidays. 📚

He joined E³UDRES² because he believes in international collaboration in higher education and stronger cooperation within Europe. 🌍

Manon is a second-year International Business student.

Outside school and work, you’ll probably find her at the gym, gaming or watching anime. 🎮🍱

She joined the Student Board because she wants more students to know about the opportunities that exist outside their regular curriculum. For her, E³UDRES² is also a chance to meet new people, build a network and gain new experiences.

And this semester? She’s hoping to get even more students involved. 💫

Dina is a second-year International Business student in Deventer.

She’s active in student representation and international initiatives at Saxion and is especially interested in leadership, communication and project coordination.

Outside her studies, she loves travelling, discovering new cultures and joining international events. 🌍

She joined E³UDRES² because she wanted to become more involved in the university community and contribute to something beyond her own study programme.

Kim is a fourth-year Applied Psychology student in Deventer and, according to Kim herself, “a Dutchy born in the wrong country”. 🏔️

She loves being in the mountains, trying new things and organising activities that bring people together.

Her reason for joining E³UDRES² is simple: working on projects with like-minded people from different backgrounds.

This is Favour Chisom Njinkonye, but you can call her Chi-chi. 👋

She studies International HRM and loves cartoons and anime. Her favourites? The Looney Tunes Show and

A busy day for E³UDRES² in Timisoara

On 25 September, E³UDRES² was present across two events at Politehnica University Timisoara: StartUPT 2026 and the European Researchers’ Night.

🎓 At StartUPT, new students discovered international learning opportunities, I Living Labs, bootcamps, hackathons and other ways to get involved in the Alliance.

🔬 At the European Researchers’ Night, more than 1,750 visitors explored research and innovation across the UPT Technical Museum and Nokia Campus, including VR and AR experiences, interactive applications and projects connected to E³UDRES².

A look back at Saxion Technology Day

From robots and hands-on experiments to creative activities and conversations, there was plenty to discover last Saturday at Saxion!

At Saxion Technology Day, E³UDRES² added a European perspective through interactive games and activities that got children, families and other visitors talking about technology, Europe and the future.

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by, joined an activity or simply came over for a chat. 💜

Career sprints at Hogeschool UCLL for 100 SME & Entrepreneurship students 🔥🔥🔥

The academic year has only just begun, but SME & Entrepreneurship students at UCLL are already thinking hard about their next step. Together with E³UDRES², they are working on a portal to help graduates identify their talents and match them with a company that can offer them their first job.
By taking into account not only the degree and the company’s expectations, but also (soft) skills and the company’s ethos, a more sustainable match is created. In this way, we aim to support our students more effectively and more quickly in their search for a (first) job.

Today, we’re asking students what they think this portal should look like. Which features do they consider important, and what are they looking for in a company?
In the next phase, we’ll approach companies to find out their needs and preferences when looking for a new employee.
