🎓 Medbh’s Honours College experience!

Meet Medbh, a second-year LLB International and European Law student from Ireland 🇮🇪. As an Honours student, she has had the opportunity to deepen her knowledge in areas beyond her regular curriculum, including AI and Democracy and Human Rights Law, while engaging in fruitful discussions with lecturers and fellow students.

Through the interdisciplinary Broadening part of the Honours Programme, Medbh has worked with students from faculties ranging from Medicine to Economics. This experience has introduced her to a more interpersonal and collaborative approach to learning, while encouraging her to explore topics outside her prescribed coursework that align with her interests.

“The opportunity to work with people from different backgrounds and disciplines has challenged me to consider perspectives I may not otherwise have encountered. Overall, the programme has helped me to broaden my academic interests while simultaneously developing meaningful connections with others.” 🌍

As a board member of the Honours College Social Association, Medbh has had the opportunity to help organize activities and events for fellow students. Through this role, she has further developed her organizational, collaborative, and leadership skills.

Check out photos from Honours lecturer Dr Jesús Mascareño Apodaca’s Creative Problem Solving Summer School this year. Also read his reflections on the experience!

“Last week, I had the pleasure of coordinating the Honours College University of Groningen Creative Problem Solving Summer School. 🚀

Together with my colleague Sasan Mansouri, and in collaboration with Manú Weissel, CEO of DataNXT, we designed a challenge that asked students to think like founders, financiers, and engineers all at once. As part of the programme, our students were among the very first to pilot DataNXT's new AI platform and apply it to real business problems.

It was great to see students from faculties outside FEB that had no prior business experience pitch their solutions like real CFOs. 🦾 🏆 👏

A big thank you to Sasan Mansouri for designing this challenge, and to Manú Weissel and the DataNXT for giving our students early access to their AI platform and for their energy throughout the week.
