De Master Physician Assistant opleiding van de Hanzehogeschool Groningen neemt de aftrap bij bezoek van Professor. dr. Roderick S Ho**er aan vier PA opleidingen in Nederland. Op 15 november 2017 zal deze gerenommeerde PA onderzoeker in gesprek gaan met onze studenten over "Research for the PA student". Vanuit Groningen zal hij doorreizen naar Ede om deel te nemen aan, en een voordracht te houden op het PA congres NAPA INVEST in Ede op 16 en 17 november. In de week nadien zal hij zijn werkbezoek voortzetten bij de MPA partner-opleidingen. Onderstaande bio sketch geeft in het kort zijn bijzonder rijke en bovenal indrukwekkende carrière weer.

Bio sketch:
Roderick S. Ho**er, PhD, MBA, PA, is a health policy consultant with an interest in organizational efficiency and health workforce economics. He spent two decades with Kaiser Permanente (a health maintenance organization) and then joined the faculty at the University of Texas and the Department of Veterans Affairs in Dallas, Texas. Following the VA appointment he accepted a Senior Directorship with The Lewin Group in Washington, DC, a health policy-consulting firm. At The Lewin Group much of his work focused on modeling the supply and demand of various health professionals; PAs, advance practice nurses, physicians and others.
Over the past decade Dr. Ho**er served as a consultant to the Ministry of Health in Ontario and New Brunswick for development of the PA profession in those provinces. A similar consultancy was in Queensland and Scotland developing PA staffing. His career includes being a US Navy corpsman, a tropical biologist, a Peace Corps volunteer, and a Coast Guard Reserve officer.
Dr. Ho**er has written four books on PAs. He has co-authored over 250 published papers, reports, book chapters, and other documents on some aspect of health services research with a focus on the economics of PAs and NP employment. He has been a faculty member of three universities as a professor and is an adjunct professor of health policy at the Northern Arizona University. Roderick Ho**er lives in Ridgefield, Washington (Pacific Northwest) where he continues his consulting work and at the same time joining citizen groups restoring hiking trails and salmon streams in the area.
