Globalisation Studies Groningen (GSG) is an inter-faculty and interdisciplinary institute that spans the entire University of Groningen. It connects academic work of research groups and individuals issues relating to globalisation, development and humanitarianism. Its aim is to stimulate, support and initiate research projects, educational programmes, North-South linkages and project applications in these related fields, thus contributing to the global profile of the university.

Vanaf zaterdag 19 november kun je in de Akerk de nieuwe tentoonstelling 'De Ontmaskerde Macht' bekijken. Zeven jaar na de aanslag op het satirische weekblad Charlie Hebdo in Parijs is de vrijheid van meningsuiting overal ter wereld verder onder druk komen te staan. Politiek cartoonisten zijn constant op zoek naar de juiste balans tussen scherpe kritiek en bevrijdende humor.

Wees welkom in de Akerk en bekijk de tekeningen van 15 cartoonisten. Waaronder Jonathan Shapiro uit Zuid Afrika, Ramón Esono Ebalé uit Equatoriaal Guinea, en Pedro X Molina uit Nicaragua. Zij werden bekroond met de prestigieuze ‘Courage in Cartooning Award’.
