At Maastricht University and UNU-MERIT, we don't just sit through lectures and take notes. We follow Problem-Based Learning (PBL), which means working in small groups of around 15 students to discuss real-life problems, exchange ideas, and learn from each other.
One of the best parts is getting to hear different perspectives. With students coming from all over the world, everyone brings their own experiences to the table, making discussions a little different every time.
Of course, there's also quite a bit of independent studying involved. To get the most out of our tutorials, we have to do the readings beforehand. So whether it's at the library, at home, or at a café, you will find your own way of preparing for the next discussion.
It is just as important though to make time for yourself and your friends, so you can fully enjoy your time here 🤍
