[An exciting announcement from UCSRN and a call for participants]
UCSRN is hosting a focus group on "life after UC" at Amsterdam University College on March 28th! In this focus group questions such as the value of LAS education in academia and the job market, successful masters transitions and questions regarding LAS-students futures will be addressed. This is a great opportunity to figure out some answers to the difficult question of what can actually be done in the real world with a bachelor of liberal arts and sciences!
For this we are looking for alumni who are willing to share their stories of life after UCM with students and alumni from other UC's in the Netherlands. The results of the focus group will be synthesised and presented to all deans of University Colleges in a letter. If you are interested to participate as an alumni or attend as a current student shoot me (Rufus Busse) a message ([email protected] or Universalis Academic Council). Below is a message from UCSRN and a link for sign up form for both alumni participants and audience members!

Are you passionate about education and interested in helping students who are structurally disadvantaged? One possible way to go after UCM, next to continuing on with a masters or interning, are the programs related to the Teach for All network. Those programs offer the
opportunity to be placed as teachers or teacher assistants for at least two years within schools in disadvantaged communities. At the same time fellows receive training and ongoing coaching, to develop the mindsets,
skills, and knowledge they need to be successful teachers within their communities.

UCM alumni (graduated in 2017) and current Teach First fellow Sam Schulz and Lea Stoicheva Chan introduced Teach First Deutschland and the Teach For All network today. If you missed them, check out the website of Teach First Germany (https://www.teachfirst.de/) or Teach For All (https://teachforall.org/). Or you message the lovely alumni on facebook!

Dear prospective Master students and alumni,
the AC is currently looking into the amount of credits we receive for capstone. For that we were wondering if any of you encountered difficulties when applying to/researching Master's programmes that require the thesis to be above 10 ECTS. If so, please drop a comment!
Love, your AC ###
