We are currently in the process of reviewing the applications. We will be in contact with those selected for an interview during the course of this week.

On 5 June, Eduardo Trancho Olabarri and Diego González Manso from Van Campen Liem gave their second tax class. This class was specifically focused on the taxation of AIFs with a special focus on Luxembourg. Besides this, they give key regulatory, fiscal and financial insights to take into consideration when setting up investment fund structures. We want to warmly thank them for this class!

On 22 May Chris Hale, former senior partner and now Chair Emeritus and senior consultant at Travers Smith, as well as Charles Bischoff, Adam Orr and Ian Keefe, all partners at Travers Smith, as well as David Walker, partner at Latham & Watkins, provided a very insightful and practical introduction into private equity structures from an equity, debt, due diligence and acquisition perspective. An excellent class about securitization was given by Laurent Lazard, partner at BSP. He provided the ins and outs of how securitization structures work and how securitization vehicles work in Luxembourg. Furthermore, he covered important legislation regarding securitization (vehicles). Thank you for this insightful class!

Here are some highlights of the closing of the interim simulation with the start-up TiQuest on the negotiation and drafting of a shareholder agreement, carried out together with the Luxembourg House of Startups! TiQuest is an innovative startup company that is focussing on technology for digital receipts. In this simulation, the participants were divided into groups and each group represented a founder or investor. The participant had to negotiate their way towards a shareholders’ agreement, taking into account the interest of their founder or investor. After that, the shareholders’ agreement had to be drafted by the participants collectively. This interim simulation was an intensive challenge, but the participants managed to put up an excellent result. We want to thank the people of TiQuest, Alex, Christoph, Jaime, and Rosa, as well as the House of Startups Luxembourg for working with the ECFL-course and allowing the participants to work on a real case scenario!
