Centre for Chinese language and cultural education services based in Maastricht, the Netherlands.

Het Confucius Instituut Maastricht (CIM) is een samenwerkingsverband tussen Zuyd Hogeschool en Dongbei University of Finance and Economics in Dalian. Missie van het CIM is het bevorderen van lokale bekendheid met de Chinese taal en (zaken-) cultuur. We doen dit door het geven van cursussen en het afnemen van examens in de Chinese taal en cultuur.

HSK 3.0 is Coming!

Starting in December 2026, the HSK at Confucius Institute Maastricht will transition from the current HSK 2.0 format to HSK 3.0.

So, what's changing? 👀

📚 More vocabulary
Each HSK level will include a larger vocabulary list than before.

✍️ Writing starts earlier
Writing skills will be tested from HSK 2 onwards.

🗣️ Speaking becomes part of the exam pathway
Candidates taking HSK 3, 4, 5, or 6 will also take the corresponding HSKK (HSK Speaking Test).

⏱️ A revised exam format
Higher levels will feature a new structure with fewer questions and shorter exam durations. The listening section will also be more closely aligned with real-life Chinese language use.

The final scheduled HSK 2.0 exam at Confucius Institute Maastricht will take place on:

Registration for the November HSK exam is now open! 🎓

This will be the last scheduled HSK 2.0 exam at Confucius Institute Maastricht and will be conducted as a PC-based exam.

From December 2026, the HSK will transition
to the new HSK 3.0 format.

Already preparing for the current HSK format? This is your final opportunity to take the HSK 2.0 exam in Maastricht before the transition to HSK 3.0.
