Sometimes, the most meaningful moments of university life happen when you put the textbooks aside.

On a recent Saturday, students from University College Roosevelt (UCR) came together at ZB Bibliotheek van Zeeland in Middelburg for another edition of Arts Anonymous, a monthly creative gathering organised in collaboration with UCR Well-Being.

This month's theme invited participants to explore "the edges and curves of beauty through lenses of human creation", using art as a way to reflect, express themselves, and discover different perspectives.

Arts Anonymous creates space for something equally valuable alongside academic learning: taking time for yourself, exploring your creativity, and connecting with others through shared experiences.

At UCR, our close-knit international community extends beyond the classroom and into places like ZB Library, where students can come together, discover new interests, and find their own ways to unwind.

A lovely glimpse of the many experiences that make student life in Middelburg so special. ✨

A little creativity, a lot of connection! 💍

Recently, students at University College Roosevelt (UCR) in Middelburg, the Netherlands, came together for a wire jewellery-making event organised by RAW (Review of Arts and Writing), one of our student societies.

From complete beginners to experienced jewellery makers, everyone had the opportunity to experiment, exchange ideas, and create their own rings, bracelets, earrings, and necklaces. With music in the background and students helping one another, it was a wonderful opportunity to unwind, learn something new, and spend time together.

These are the moments that make student life at UCR special. Beyond the classroom, our close-knit international community is shaped by students who take the initiative to organise activities, share their interests, and bring people together.

A lovely reminder that university life is also about the friendships you build and the experiences you share.

Bringing Leadership & Organizational Psychology to Life 🧭🧠

From exploring leadership in practice to discovering how we can shape our working lives, UCR students connected theory with real-world experience!

As a part of the Personal Leadership course, taught by Dr. Snězana Stupar-Rutenfrans, students participated in an interactive workshop with leadership expert Anne-Mieke Minderhoud.

In addition, students in the Psychology of Organizations Psychology attended a guest lecture by Dr. Rawan Ghazzawi from Tilburg University on job crafting for cross-cultural research, future careers, and workplace well-being.

Both sessions offered valuable insights and opportunities for students to engage with experts from academia and practice, bringing the courses to life through real-world experiences.

A big thank you to both speakers for sharing their expertise and inspiring our students! 👏
