As part of the Data Analytics (DARBS) course in the Master’s specialisation Digital Management, students work with real-world datasets, tackle business challenges, and reflect on the ethical side of data use. In collaboration with Microsoft, they translate their insights into a final video. 🎬📊📈
The students in this photo are the winning team, whose video was featured on the Microsoft Tech Community Blog. This allows them to promote themselves and their learnings for career prospects.
Rianne van Ee: ‘’During the DARBS course, one of the most valuable things I learned was how to use Power BI and work with data analytics. This learning process allowed us to try a lot of new things on our own, which taught us how to approach new technical programs independently. This really helped us develop our problem-solving skills and confidence in learning how to use new tools.
Another aspect of the course I particularly appreciated was the focus on ethics and responsible use of data. We were always told to reflect on our choices and make sure ethics were considered every step of the way.
I found the course very beneficial, as it combined practical technical skills with important considerations of ethics and responsibility. For the future, I think both aspects are equally important. Firstly, the skills I developed with Power BI and data analytics. And secondly, the development of my critical thinking skills regarding ethics and responsibility.‘’
