🌈 Pride is a celebration, but it’s also a moment to reflect on who is still being left behind.
As Amsterdam hosts WorldPride this summer, we’re shining a light on the work of Alex Huang, Project Officer at the ESSB Diversity & Inclusion Office.
Over the past year, Alex collaborated with Workplace Pride and its People of Colour (POC) Community to explore what true inclusion looks like for Q***r People of Colour (QPOC) in the workplace. Together, they developed a Vision Paper based on community dialogues that highlights lived experiences, challenges and opportunities for more intersectional inclusion.

The conversations revealed that while many organisations focus on LGBTQ+ inclusion, far fewer address how sexuality, race and ethnicity intersect. Participants shared experiences of feeling visible when diversity is celebrated, yet unseen when facing discrimination, microaggressions or the daily challenge of navigating different parts of their identity at work.
The Vision Paper is more than a report, it amplifies community voices and lays the foundation for future research, policy and practice that better reflects the experiences of QPOC communities.
