Mediacom is a new initiative to gather all media master students from ESHCC for social and professional events.

In less than 24 hours Media Studies Career days are starting. Here are some advices to benefit as much as you can from the events:
-Be sure to bring your positive attitude, your curiosity, and your enthusiasm to take as much as you can from the sessions.
-Of course, do not forget to dress to impress our lecturers.
-Do not be shy! Ask questions and talk to our speakers.
-Be there ten minutes earlier.

DisGover B.V. is an organization that provides traineeships for young professionals who recently graduated from their master’s degree.
In their workshops on the 16th of April during the Media studies career days they are going to teach us how to find innovative solutions to practical problems. Ynnovate is a method of looking at problems differently and solving them together through a creative brainstorm. Within their workshops they want to introduce this method to you! They will be handling a real life case, and hope that through your enthusiasm they are able to think of a 'out of the box' solution!

Creative, energetic, with strong project management, communication and leading skills, Panos Tzeremes is one of the Media & Business Alumni, who will present in the Career Days as a guest lecturer. After 5 years in journalism, Panos decided to go on the other side and the last 1 year, at the same time with his master thesis, he is working for Unilever, one of the most outstanding companies worldwide. He will provide us with a strong motivation to continue our thesis and get the most out of this and also, he will share tips and tricks to make the jobs seeking process a bit easier.

The time has come! Registrations for the Career Days Master Media Studies 2019 will be open from Monday 1 April 15.00 to Wednesday 10 April 23.59. But hurry up, as a first come first serve policy will be followed.

1) Login to SIN-online
2) Go to 'My Registrations'
3) Tick the boxes next to the activities that interest you
4) Click on 'Save changes' to finalize your registration.

The last member of the group behind the Career Days this year is Jenske Vermeulen. To get to know her better, we asked her what is the most interesting Career experience she had:

" I worked for half a year as a community coordinator at Dutch Comic Con. Dutch comic con is a two-yearly event in Utrecht for lovers of popular comics, tv series, films and games. The last edition attracted more than 35.000 visitors! I learned a lot of during these months; how such an event is organized, what marketing for this event entails, et cetera. It was really nice to be part of the Dutch Comic Con team! The company who oversees Dutch Comic Con; Easyfairs, is also joining these career days. They come to tell more about numerous events they organize all across the Netherlands."

It's time to start announcing our appearing companies for the Career Days!

Our first guest speaker comes from DEPT., an agency specializing in e-commerce, marketing and design! Our guest speaker is Dimitris Kourelis (Dimm Kou).

Dimitris graduated from the Media and Business programme last year and today he works at Dept Agency as a Data Consultant. He will share with us his personal story from graduation to employment, what went right, what went wrong and what are his key takeaways. Of course. It would be a pity if we do not have our own “inside man” reveal some secrets of Dept Agency, and shed some light on agency life, the culture and the industry in general.

Moving on to another member of the team behind the Career Days this year, we asked Karim Hussainali what is their importance.

“Especially for those of us who don’t have a clear image of what they hope to do with their future careers, the Career days are an exceptionally nice opportunity to orient yourself on varying fields within our broad media sphere. Are you interested in sharpening your practical skills? Are you interested in learning more about the Dutch job market and its intricacies? Are you interested in getting an insider perspective into working at prominent companies? If you answered yes to one or more of these questions, we’d love to welcome you to our Career Days!”

“The Career Days is a big opportunity for the students who want to discover, experience and learn the details of Dutch media sphere . As the planning committee, we are working for providing this opportunity through field trips, workshops and guest speaker sessions during the Career Days. "

Today we'd like to introduce the faces behind the Career Days of this year!

Starting off with Eduardo Jáuregui, we asked him about the importance of attending the Career Days:

''As a current Master student, being informed about my future and possible career paths after graduation is of the utmost importance. It is not only an opportunity to work for my fellow media students by helping run an event for and by students and discuss our concerns, but it also helps to strengthen the ties between the academic and professional world.''

Hi Master Media students!

As you may have heard during the Master Class, the Career Days (on April 15th and April 16th) are slowly approaching. As much as you may have an idea as to what the Career Days are, you never had the complete picture in mind.

Fear not! That’s what we’re here for! We? The committee organizing these Career Days since the start of this academic year :))))
We will be introducing ourselves soon enough, but let’s go over what you can expect from us first!

We will be keeping you up-to-date on the events that will take place, the companies that will be appearing and making sure that you’re attending events for YOU, not because you’re required to. Like this page to stay updated, and hit Attending on our FB events to have it saved already for when we’re posting the schedule over there as well :)

Hi all,

the Career Days 2018 are over, and we would like to thank everyone who participated in the workshops, field trips and lectures. We hope you had a great time!

In order to plan the Career Days for next year, and to meet student’s expectations, we would like to ask you for constructive feedback. Please let us know what you liked about this year’s Career Days and what could be improved for next year.
