Voor een succesvolle start en een goedlopende praktijk is een goede voorbereiding onmisbaar. Als bevlogen kunstenaar of een ontwerper verlies je de ondernemende kant van het vak wel eens uit het oog. Je hart ligt er niet of je vindt het eng om je over de financiële zaken te buigen. Het Business Station (Willem de Kooning Academie) biedt hulp en ondersteuning aan studerende en reeds afgestudeerde k

unstenaars en ontwerpers. Zowel onderwijsinhoudelijk speelt het Business Station een rol in het implementeren van ondernemerschap in het curriculum als wel dat er fysiek een plek is waar studenten uit alle disciplines actief begeleid en ondersteund worden in het opzetten en ontwikkelen van hun beroepspraktijk. Tevens is het Business Station een kennisorgaan dat jaarlijks een vernieuwend en relevant programma samenstelt in het kader van ondernemerschap gericht op de creatieve sector.

Hi MJ here 👋🏼 i am taking it easy (like Sunday morning)

Kuno, Mark and I used to be the Business Station dudes at . Unfortunately that’s history 😞 💔. Being on a break gave me new ideas though. I am restarting the bs services 💪🏼 renaming it The Money Club.

For now these illustrations by .donothing (♥️) accurately show where I am at. Buttt. As of now I am looking for collabs, creating materials and thinking of a revenue model 😉.
Looking forward to dust off the old and bring the new.

Retrospective of the Business Station
Since we are terminated, an overview of things we did….
In the days the awards were still given. During the Henri Winkelman Network Event, a new award THE PUSH AWARDS initiated by the Business Station was given out.
The PUSH AWARD helps young designers transform their graduation project into a next level professional project. The award promotes the potential of great graduation projects, and helps to take the next step in building a successful, sustainable practice. Shortly, the PUSH AWARD was a great way to launch a career and a stepping stone to win other future awards.

The Business Station is terminated. So we share some of the things we did over the last 10 years.
One thing we keep focusing on is a fair pay for artists.
We also developed a game to give insight on how to make a living from art and design.
We also had an elective focusing on reuse and sustainability.
Hopefully something stuck from our program!
